4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber sweet roasted smell with some hop. Dark brown with light tan head that lingers. Taste like a deep brown sugar with hoppy fruity notes. Good amount of carbonation to carry this smoothly down. Surprisingly refreshing and holds the characteristics of a ipa while carrying some of that roasted flavor perfectly. Overall I feel this is a great example of a black ipa and highly recommend it.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber. Pours a deep brown, almost looks like porter, generous off-white head that retained very nicely and left good lacing. Nose is what you’d expect from a 3F’s brew -- lots of resinous piney and citrus hops, mingling with malt dark roast. Mouth is big and dry with a load of heavy citrus and pine up front, some lemony perfuminess, then some roast and slight chocolatey notes complimenting a loooong bitter finish. Drank this with some Puerto Rican rice and leftover chorizo, so it kinda messed with my tastebuds, but still greatly enjoyed it. Another solid offering from the Pride of Munster.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled at DLD 2013. It poured a black color with a tan head. The aroma was very hoppy with grapefruit, tangerine, pine with roasted malt hanging in the background. The taste was of bitter hoppiness through out the beer with lingering roasted malts and chocolate. Good stuff.

22oz bottle, purchased at Dark Lord Day 2013. Pours a deep, dark brown color with a tan head and a little lacing. Aroma is roasty, hoppy, pine, grass. Medium on the palate with average carbonation. Flavor is sweet, malty, chocolate, roasty, hoppy, bitter, citrus, orange, pine, with a bitter, roasty finish. Not my favorite style, but a decent Black IPA.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours with a hazed medium brown hued body with a small tan head. Not quite as dark as I was expecting from a black IPA. Flavors are hoppy: herbal, spicy with some citrus and grass hop notes as well. Medium malt, brown sugar. Flavors are spicy, and herbal hoppy components, medium citrus, brown sugar, kind of sweet. Medium to full bodied, lighter carbonation.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle shared by Paul, poured a dark brown color with aromas of burnt toast, light caramel, and some spicy hops. Flavors are the same light burnt toast lingers, light citrus in there as well, a solid beer.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Eyehategod is quite the interesting band... Likewise this is quite the interesting beer. Black ipas always surprise me with how many different types of flavors they possess. This beer is no different. It Pours a murky black brown color with a lacy foamy head. Aroma is hoppy, citrus and grapefruit and dark maltyness. Flavor is balanced and wonderful. Nice hoppy ipa to start with very bitter grapefruity citrus and pine flavors which changes to a sweeter citrus in the middle and a great sweet malty flavor with chocolate and coffee tones while still keeping the hoppy bitterness. This is a very complex and unique brew attached to a.... Very.... Interesting... And unique metal band (with an awesome name...)

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
This is a pretty intense beer as the name suggests. It pours a very dark murky brown black with a small white head and some effervescence. It smells like a Belgian beer with a lot of hops and the perfect amount of sweet malts. It tastes a little belgiany, maybe some sweet caramel malts balanced beautifully with some hops. It’s not as bitter as I’d expect from an IPA. Overall this is a grand beer and I’d love to get it again.
