This Black India Pale Ale is loaded with hops balanced with delicious maltiness. It was brewed with our friends from the great city of New Orleans in the band EYEHATEGOD.

Bottle: pours opaque dark coffee brown, huge dense sand head. Nose is spicy, herbal hops, black licorice, roasted caramel malts and fresh pines. Resinous pine hops, caramel malt sweetness, milk thistle, milk chocolate and coffee bitterness on the finish. Rich and 3 floyds yeast always ups the ante ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Trade from BrewMane. thanks! Pours dark brown with some ruby with a tan one finger head that stays with it. Big sweet dry hop aroma with floral bots and definite citrus and pine. Some roasted malt in the backbone but smelling hop forward. Flavor is big bitter pine up front with a bit of spiciness and lots of toasty malt backbone. A nicely balanced brew. Medium mouthfeel and lots of carbonation. Dry finish. One of the better black ipa's for sure.

Smell is sweet, malty, herbal and floral with roasted malts, pine needles, grapefruit juice, resinous wood, sweet liquorice candy, caramel, burnt cookies, dark roast coffee and moist soil. Taste is slightly sweet, bitter, tiny fruity, herbal and floral with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, grapefruit juice, pine needles, lemon zest, unripe mango, unripe pineapple, resinous wood, caramel, burnt cookies, and black currant leaves. Mouthfeel is round, soft, tiny oily bitter, very tiny astringent and medium bodied. Finish is bitter with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, caramel, pine needles, resinous wood, burnt cookies and grapefruit rinds. Very solid and tasty brown BIPA.

Bottle, courtesy of allesmetkaas, @ Rampkort tasting. Pours a dark brown, clear beer with a small light tanned head on top. Aroma is fresh and hoppy, spicy, licorice root and some molasses and sugar. Flavor is nice and bitter, very well balanced between the hops and malts. Has some grassy, pine notes in the taste as well. Decent drinkable, expected a bit more but it’s still a very nice beer.
