This Black India Pale Ale is loaded with hops balanced with delicious maltiness. It was brewed with our friends from the great city of New Orleans in the band EYEHATEGOD.

Bottle shared at Bruce’s in London during Jack’s farewell tasting. Pours clear brown with a creamy, tan head. Nose holds burnt pine, orange, dirt. Medium sweet flavor, some chalky cocoa, good roast, earth, bitter grapefruit and orange rind, toast. Medium bodied with fine to average, creamy carbonation. Roasty finish, bitter earth, more citrus rind, burnt wood, dark pine. Pretty decent.

Split bomber with sherm1016. Pours a dark brown with thin head. Interesting malty initial taste with a bitter hop edge. Not a huge BIPA fan but this is good / tasty ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours deep dark brown with thick creamy tan head. Aroma is roasty sweet malt and some floral/pine hops coming through. Taste is roasty coffee malt upfront with faint floral, piny hops on the follow through. Aftertaste is lingering roasted coffee and bitter hops. Palate is thin and somewhat sticky. Overall this is an interesting mix of things. Heavy roastiness with some hop bite. I would say this is a pretty solid take on a Black IPA.

Tap. Dark black pour, little lasting disc of carbonation and an aroma of hoppy dark roasted malt. Flavor is dark dry malt, hop pellets (but in a good way) and little hints of orange and chocolate.Solid.

Bottle: pours opaque dark coffee brown, huge dense sand head. Nose is spicy, herbal hops, black licorice, roasted caramel malts and fresh pines. Resinous pine hops, caramel malt sweetness, milk thistle, milk chocolate and coffee bitterness on the finish. Rich and 3 floyds yeast always ups the ante ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Trade from BrewMane. thanks! Pours dark brown with some ruby with a tan one finger head that stays with it. Big sweet dry hop aroma with floral bots and definite citrus and pine. Some roasted malt in the backbone but smelling hop forward. Flavor is big bitter pine up front with a bit of spiciness and lots of toasty malt backbone. A nicely balanced brew. Medium mouthfeel and lots of carbonation. Dry finish. One of the better black ipa's for sure.
