PhysZac (69), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA May 22, 2008 This thing is balanced. Biscuit, caramel, spice, lemon, pine aroma. Much the same in taste. Excellent mouthfeel, thick, but still nicely drinkable. I love this beer. Ole_R (1303), Oslo, Norway Sep 29, 2008 Draught@EBF 2008. Dark reddish-golden, dense tan head. An alluring sweet caramel aroma in a perfect mix with a pure, sweet and fresh fruitiness. Taste is sweet malty, wheathy, with lots of ripe fruits. Notes of summerflovers, perfume and bubble-gum. Also some metalic notes and a fine bitterness towards the end. Full-bodied. Extremely aromatic and flavorful. A favorite.
NobleSquirrel (686), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 28, 2008 Bottle from FFF. Huh. Well, this is different. Here I’m anticipating a wheat wine, but it really isn’t. It’s more like an IIPA, kind of like an imperial Gumballhead, actually. Nose is citrusy and peachy. Pour is deep amber with a disappearing head. Nice and bitter with a big malt backbone. Actually, I really dig this one... jjpm74 (3110), Stratford, CT 06614, Connecticut, USA Jul 9, 2008 Pours copper with a thin but stubborn white head. Smells of wheat, fruity, sweet malt. Tastes of wheat, some nice sugary hints, spice, pepper, touches of nicely balanced wheat. Finish yields some nice fruity touches. I hope this becomes a regular release. Great job! Bigsilky (229), Boone, North Carolina, USA Jul 18, 2008 Amber crimson pour with a nice taupe head. Big citrusy hop nose and a light caramel base. Orange zest leads into spicy cedary hop. Malty palate is braced with a solid hop backbone in a seamless solioquy. Flavors form a constant wave of grapefruit and..... Well balanced and evolving . A thinker. Much pleasure from a round hoppy finish. No extending bittterness or astringent yeast bite. Some tropical fruit that lingers with the hop freshness. Very well done. All elements in balance and hedonistic for the hophead.
