2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Definitely an American Barleywine. Plenty of hops through and through. Malty and hoppy start to finish, adding minimal else to the flavor profile. Solid, not great.

On tap at Firkin. Poured a healthy shade of medium golden with a short, well-retained white head. The aroma picked up white pepper, light-skinned fruits, and a big dose of citrus over honey-kissed bready malts.. strong, but not boozy.. a touch muddled. The flavor found more honey than anything else at the core, with a little fruity meat too.. fruit skins, peppercorns, and citrus bitterness surrounded.. some earthy rice came through as it warmed.. finished warm, bitter, and mighty tasty. Heavy-bodied and filling on the palate.. low-moderate carbonation.. heavy-handed in some regards, but very good overall.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy orange pour, good sized head, lively carbonation. Sweet aroma, loads of hops here. Slightly boozy, Tangerine, Dark overripe grapefruit - fairly sweet, almost a candy like quality to this. Medium body. I liked this, though it is far hoppier than I anticipated. A fairly good barley wine that would have made a fantastic double IPA.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
22oz bottle purchased at Antioch Fine Wine and Spirits. Pours a hazy, light-amber color with a white head. Aroma is hoppy, floral, a little pine and citrus. Medium on the palate with soft carbonation. Flavor is sweet, bready, some caramel, some nice citrus, grapefruit hop bitterness, with a light bitter finish. Very nice.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
The aroma of this beer is overwhelmingly hops. Lots of sweet citrus and tropical fruit. As it warms some pine resin appears in the back end. This must be overwhelmingly Simcoe, Centennial or loads of fresh Cascade. No malt character in aroma but there is some alcohol noticeable.
Pours a very clear golden orange with a quarter inch tall white head that slowly but steadily recedes to the edges of the glass.
Flavor is fairly sweet with little malt character, just a hint of cracker and caramel. Flavor has more of a hop resin flavor but is still dominated by citrus, especially grapefruit as well as some tropical fruit. Solid bitterness in the finish helps hide the alcohol, but the alcohol is noticeable. Alcohol is clean and not fusel.
The mouthfeel is a touch thin, but that is how I prefer my IPAs so I like this but it definitely isn't a barleywine of any type that I am aware of. Mouthfeel, while on the thin side, is still smooth and almost creamy. Some warming from the alcohol.
Overall this is a really nice double or triple IPA with some nice northwest hop character in both the flavor and aroma. The rice is light and really lets the hops shine. The alcohol is clean and not obtrusive.

Bottled. An amber beer with a lazing off-white head. The aroma has notes of lemons, straw, caramel, malt, and astribgent hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, peaches, hops, alcohol, and brewing cereal, leading to a dry alcoholic finish.

Sweat aroma and a wine taste. A big bubbly head and lots of lace.
Gino’s bottle from 3 Floyds visit. A wild yeast strain, with bravo hops I think. Sweet and hoppy. A big mouthfeel, tangerine and grapefruit flavours. Not super drinkable.bee-aye 6600.

4.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from the brewery. Pours a slightly hazy orange with not much head. Smell is sweet, with some citrus, and a slightly sweaty hint as well. Palate is medium bodied with some good carbonation. Taste is quite complex with an initial sweet kick followed by some bitter hoppiness and s bit of a wild yeast taste. Very balanced aftertaste with a bit of alcohol warmness.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours a tangerine dream haze with a Lucy in the sky with diamonds head. Nice citrus aromas. Light on the malt, heavy on the hops and alcohol. Not too sweet, actually quite perfect. This is a beautiful beer to smell and drink. Awesome.

Trade courtesy of queenholly - thanks! This stuff is really good. Perfect mix of nice fruity notes, some bourbon, light grassy notes, as well. I get woody flavors, too. And it doesn’t seem like it 10%, either. Good stuff...
