4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 tobias (165) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - APR 26, 2013
22 oz. bottle: pours jet black with a khaki colored head. Creamy vanilla coffee aroma. Hints of chocolate and caramelized sugar! Pretty lively on the palette for a stout. Flavor kind of reminds me of a crime brûlée. Lots of malty Carmel flavor but not cloyingly sweet. Long balanced finish.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 gyllenbock (2967) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - APR 8, 2013
Bottle at Mikkeller & Friends, April 2013.
Almost black with a small tan head. Aroma and taste of dried fruit, soy, milk chocolate, malt and some notes of coconut. Sweet but an ok beer with a creamy mouthfeel. Not as "milky" as expected.

Bottle from trade, absolutely amazing milk stout. Smooth. Very light and soft on the mouth. It’s like drinking sweet silk. One of the best for sure

Bottle thanks to manbrognig74. This is one of the best all around stouts I have ever had. A slight smokey aroma that isn't too overpowering. The malts are balanced by a slight bitter bite. The body is quite smooth and creamy. It goes down quick.

Sweet, bready malts; lactic base is kinda weak. Roasted malt soothes my taste buds, yet doesn't have the maturity shown by last year's batch. An excellent shelf beer nonetheless.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Sikash (171) - North Carolina, USA - JAN 25, 2013
Pours a nice dark color with a dark tan color that lasts a decent while. Aroma is nice and smooth of sweet milk, toasted malt and chocolate. Flavor is initially very bitter of coffee, chocolate and milk but smooths out into a nice bittersweet flavor that lasts a good while. Mouthfeel is full and carbonation is avareage. This is a delicious beer I wouldn’t hesitate to have again.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 superspak (1475) - Michigan, USA - JAN 25, 2013
22 ounce bottle into signature tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours fairly pitch black color with a nice 2 finger dense dark khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of milk chocolate, caramel, toffee, toast, brown sugar, dark bread, roasted malt, oats, cream, and light coffee; slight alcohol noticed as it warms. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of roasted flavors. Taste of milk chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, toffee, toast, oats, coffee, cream, dark bread, earth, and light herbal spiciness. Lingering notes of milk chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, toast, toffee, oats, coffee, cream, dark bread, and light herbal spiciness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice flavor balance and complexity; great roasted and sweet flavor balance; and zero cloying sweetness present after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very creamy and lightly slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a small warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an excellent imperial milk stout. Great balance and complexity of roasted and sweet flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A highly enjoyable offering.

Refrigerated 650 mL brown bottle obtained through trade from queenholly poured into a shaker. Pours coal black with small medium brown head. Medium lacing, thick body, medium carbonation, velvety smooth texture, and sweet aroma. Taste is roasted malt (mostly milk chocolate), herbal hops, lactose, and slightly bitter finish. Definitely a milk stout, but reminicient of a baltic porter. Thanks queenholly.
