SQNfan (235), Wheaton, Illinois, USA Jan 7, 2008 On tap at the brewery: Black in color with a brown head. The nose was filled wtih milk chocolate, oatmeal and some coffee. In the mouth it was creamy and inviting. While not weighty there was nice concentration of flavor. JLAudio (261), Crestwood, Illinois, USA Nov 3, 2007 On tap at FFF brewpub. Was a nice darkened black color with a nice creamy tan head. It had great aromas of chocolate, roasted nuts, citrus, and slight coffee. It tasted very smooth and creamy, full of roasted nut, bitter cocao, sweet chocolate, vanilla, and a little coffee. It was balanced very nicely, and had a very round body to it. sliffy (1903), Columbus, Ohio, USA Aug 31, 2007 On tap @ the Brew pub: Pours black with that classic nitro tan head. Mmm... When will this end. Aroma, chocolate, a little roasty, and some lactose. Flavor, chocolate, lactose, chocolate milk, a slight coffee hint to it, and some earthy notes on the finish. This would probably be much better without the nitro. ABUSEDGOAT (1789), California, USA Aug 23, 2007 Black pour, somewhat lighter tan head. This was on nitro tap. (damn). Aroma is chocolate, coffee, roast, oats, caramel, a touch of hops. Creamy and smooth, but I would have much preferred it to not be on nitro. Really solid sweetstout that was put on nitro. alexanderj (1094), Roanoke, Virginia, USA Aug 8, 2007 tap at the brewpub. Pours a very nice looking dark brown/black with a creamy light brown head. Good smell with chocolate and roasted malt, with a nice vanilla presence. Flavor was similar with some milk sweetness. Mouthfeel could have been more creamy, but overall solid for the style.
