3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Color is a slightly hazy dark golden with a white head that dissipates pretty quickly. Bready, earthy nose. Nice medium mouthfeel and body. A little hop bite at the front that smooths out quickly. Flavors of sweetish caramel malts come through. Easy drinker and, in my opinion, a more enjoyable brew than some actual German Oktoberfests.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Rusty orange. Straightforward but pleasant aroma of plum, honeyed toast, cookie, hazelnut and hay. Fluffy carbonation. Full body. Punchy Munich gives substantial weight as do plummy esters. Good textural grip to the deep toast, which hints at melanoidins at times and adequately wards off any excessive plummy slickness. Lovely blend of tobacco softness, hay dust and marzipan extends from the well-extracted maltiness. Dab of floral notes adds a refined touch and softens the body. Finishes beefy, fully malty and toasty, with toasted bread and restrained hop spice lingering. A straightforward example, and a tad underattenuated to me, but thankfully it is a serious rendition and not dry-hopped or something silly or Americanized. Pretty easy to like. The $10 price tag is very unreasonable, though. For around $3.00 a bomber, I’d be drinking this again.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught. One lite Mass! Light hazy deep amber liquid with medium to big off-white head. Aroma of floral hops, citrus grain, bread, light toast and earth. Taste is light sweet and light bitter with notes of bread, nuts, toast, floral hops and citrus. Medium bodied with medium to high carbonation. Nice, drinkable and modern. Quite hoppy for a Märzen.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled September 24, 2015 and enjoyed October 18, 2015 in a Paulaner Munchen mug.
Look - Dark, murky amber/clay body with a decent light tan head. Head does stick around but blotchy spots on wide surface in the mug. Great lacing.
Smell - Honey. Caramel. Malt. Grass. Musty hop.
Taste - Honey. Caramel. Pine. Straw. Strawberry. Hops don’t come through.
Feel - I fear lighter beers because of the carbonation that comes with them and this is not one to be afraid of. Smooth and medium bodied with no carbonation explosion.
