A: The beer pours thick and black, not much head on it. Sort of like regular Dark Lord. S: Lots of bourbon and vanilla with an intense sweetness that only Dark Lord can achieve. Brown sugar, molasses, chocolate, and dark fruits with a hint of nuts and maple syrup. T: Like the nose, intensely sweet with all sorts of different sugar notes: molasses, brown sugar, toffee, caramel, and maple syrup. There’s lots of chocolate, bourbon, and vanilla, too with plenty of dark fruit. M: Thick, syrupy, and lowly carbonated. O: The bourbon helps to take off the edge of the Dark Lord. Pretty good beer.

UPDATED: APR 17, 2013 Bottle shared at the Stouts Pt. III & Others: The Brokeback Tasting - London. Massive thanks to Kenny the Great for finding this at the back of his fridge. Pours clear, black brown with a faint, beige foam head. Lots of rich bread, brownies, chocolate cake and soy sauce in the nose. Big sweet flavor, lots of molasses, some brownies, light earth, vanilla, brown sugar, sweet bread. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish, tons of creamy dark sugars, boat loads of molasses, moderate chocolate, heavy bread, restrained booze, further vanilla, soft burnt wood. Really delicious stuff. Quite a sipper. I do enjoy a nice, sweet Dark Lord variant.

Bottle 482/484 courtesy of ygtbsm94, thank you sir! Dark maroon color, brown head that settles to an edge. Aroma of a sunny day in Madagascar, with an edge of espresso and dark cacao liqueur. Taste is creamy and syrupy dark milk chocolate, raisins. Nice.

750 ml bottle poured a translucent dark brown early black with a lingering ring of brown foam. Aroma of bourbon, alcohol, pepper, mollasses, vanilla, oak, maple, dark chocolate and dried fruit. Palate was medium to full bodied and smooth with a warming finish. Yes, it’s own rating! Talk about delicious!! Thanks to a great FL friend for this! Black pour, brown head. Tons of vanilla, coconut, bourbon, cocoa, raisins. Flavor is rich and sweet. Boozy, thick. Rather awesome...so much better than the regular version!

Bottle...This beer rocks!... Pitch black ale with a mid-sized, creamy, light brown head. Great retention. The woody, boozy nose presents big bourbon, oak and a whisper of vanilla. Full-bodied and chewy with lively carbonation. The flavor is flooded with bourbon and offers gobs of chocolate, light molasses, espresso and a touch of coconut. Finishes bold, burnt and boozy. Thanks go out to 50belair for sharing this world class beer!

PVW 750mL yellow wax #482/484 thanks to ygtbsm94. Looks like this entry doesn’t specify draft only bourbon barrel Dark Lord. Pours clear cola, deeper, with a mediocre, beige head. No retention or lace. Rich, buttery bourbon nose. Taste is sweeter than the De Muerte. Not as spicy but with more noticeable alcohol. Still quite sweet. Palate is tangy and chalkier. Long finish with stickness and "tanginess". Not really creamy or rich. Not significantly different from the De Muerte. Quite sweet and boozy. 8/3/7/3/14=3.5 Want me to re-rate this from DLD draft only? Bite me.

Pappy Van Winkle Barrel Aged 2011 bottle thanks to someone at Woodshop 6! Glad to finally try this. Pitch black pour, glass coating, with a small tan head that fades. Really viscous stuff! Huge, rich bourbon aroma, coconut, vanilla, brown sugar, maple. A bit of an alcohol tinge. Light dark fruits, tons of chocolate. Flavors are also amazing. Coconut, vanilla, bourbon, cotton candi, brown sugar, chocolate and alcohol. Decadent. Boozy, warming, viscous with low carbonation. A real treat! Quite a bit better than the regular last two releases of Dark Lord. Very solid.
