UPDATED: JAN 5, 2014 Pours a bright, opaque sunset orange color with decent carbonation and about a finger length head that dissipates to a thin lacing. Smells of pretty bright, juicy tropical fruits like papaya, guava, and pineapple. Also get some resinous citrus fruits like orange and a slight grapefruit. Nice candied sweetness as well. Smells like a big, sweet, citrusy double ipa. Taste is amazing. Starts with bright, clean citrus fruits like orange and grapefruit with some resinous pine that adds quite a bit of abrasive bitterness. Then melds into a nice carmel/candied sweetness, somewhat bready malt backbone. This gives the fruity hop qualities a more juicy-like flavor. Finish brings a slight abrasive bitterness back, but its subdued compared to some of their other dipas. Along with this comes more of the tropical fruit variety. Pineapple, papaya, and mango stand out as well as a great candied sweetness. Also get just a hint of pine. Just the slightest alcohol burn on the end, but no alcohol to smell or taste, which is impressive for 10.5%. A crisp and somewhat clean, refreshing finish that really makes this beer awesome. High medium body with a creamy and slightly oily mouthfeel from the hops, but still very clean compared to other dipas at this strength. I have very high expectations when it comes to three floyds dipas and this one meets it and then some. Outstanding beer.

Bottle. Golden body with a frothy, off-white head. Aroma of peach, apricot, toasted grain, tropical fruits, citrus, orange. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety/sticky texture, lively carbonation. Big fruit taste of peach, orange juice, citrus. Only slightly hot in the finish. Sweet for an imperial IPA (unless I kept the bottle too long). Otherwise, good stuff.

Bottle. Gorgeous, hazy, golden pour. Huge candied citrus on the nose. Big grapefruit and orange peel taste. Huge huge and hoppy and citrus and floral typical of FFF imperials. Just incredible. A masterpiece.

UPDATED: NOV 10, 2015 Poured from the bomber, light orange with a white 2 finger collar. I had bought a bomber a few days ago and noticed that I really liked it more toward the last few drinks than I did early. So I went back today, bought the last two warm, put them on ice when I was at work, and enjoyed them afterword. Lots of grapefruit & tropical, tons of strong, mouth watering, really nice beer, glad I donít have to drive across state lines to get it.

22 ounce bottle, bottled on 9/22/15. Just bought it last weekend so I wasnít able to try this fresher. Served in a tulip, the beer pours a slightly hazy golden/orange color with a couple inch off-white head that stayed around for a very long time. Thereís also a lot of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells mostly like citrusy (tropical fruit, mango, citrus peel) and pine hops, along with some bready malt. Taste is similar to the aroma, but thereís also the addition of some candied oranges and dankness. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, itís slick and a bit creamy with a good amount of carbonation. I thought this was pretty good, Iíd like to try it again in the future.

Shared at a bottle share, hosted by Mickey before the U-of-M game on October 10. Poured from a 22 oz bottle. This one has such high hopes from the get go. The pour is beautiful. Itís a nice orangey-yellow color, clear, with a great thick white, soapy head that leaves some great lace as it falls down to the beer. The aroma is a bit disappointing. There is a good citrus and resin available, but it turns malty and carries not quite as heavy of a citrus punch. There is a dank hop thatís also present, taking away from some of the brighter resin. The flavor is very similar. There is an excellent balance to this, but Iím not a fan of the balance with IIPAs. I would like this to be bitter and hoppy and citrusy. The mouth feel is decent. Itís a little undercarbonated and can come off as a little syrupy at times, but for the most part itís pretty good. The aftertaste is lingeringly citrusy and piney with a light malt coming through on the back end. Itís not terrible, but this could be a lot better.

This beer had really great contrast after Quaanto -which is pretty damn impressive. More aroma and more body. Not as sweet but still very potent. This damn thing is sessionable as far as Iím concerned. Full pints.

GABF 2015. copper color with a white head. Sweet, hop juice and sweet malt. High alcohol is noticeable. Hops are powerful but it is fairly well balanced by the sweet malt. an intense double ipa.

Clear orange yellow, small lacing white foam head. Bittersweet aroma, lots of sweet fruit tones there. Strong bitter taste, and aftertaste. Bitterness overwhelming. (Wheeling 201007)

Permanent Funeral bomber September 22 enjoyed September 26, 2015 in a pint glass. Look - Lighter orange yellow. Clear. Expected white head medium bubbles. Looks like an average IPA. Smell - Pine. Resin. Vanilla. Watermelon. Grapefruit. Orange. Taste - Perfect balance. Pine resin, citrus, and just enough musty danknous to contribute. Feel - No carbonation bomb. Smooth. Tongue is ripped but while weird to say, only on the edges. Overall - There is a lot of citrus but is well balanced. It was worth the drive to Chicago. I have been waiting for a year to get a bottle. Drunk me at DLD was right, very good.
