Amazing. Resinous hoppy flavor. Murky orange pour. Vanilla, citrus and toffee followed by more citrus. Don’t pass this one up.

Drucken på fat på Mikkeller bar på Viktoriagade, Köpenhamn. Stor kropp, rejält humlad men riktigt välbalanserad. Toffee och karamell, lätt gräsig, tallskott, mango, grape, kumquats. Riktigt gott, tack Daniel!

Bottle received as extra in trade. Thank you Brandon. About 1.5 months old it seems. Pours hazy vibrant deep orange with a frothy goldenish offwhite head that leaves some sparse sticky trace and thick lacing on the glass while dissipating. Smell is fruity, slightly grassy, slightly piney and tiny boozy with freshly baked white bread, caramel, fruit toffee, grapefruit juice, mango, lychee, kumquats, freshly cut grass, pine needles, orange zest, lemon zest and hints of alcohol. Taste is sweet, bitter, fruity, grassy and slightly boozy with white bread, caramel, toffee, grapefruit juice, mango, pineapple, papaya, kumquats, freshly cut grass, pine needles, resinous wood, alcohol and lemon zest. Mouthfeel is soft, round, sticky, oily, boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is slightly sweet and bitter with caramel, toffee, grapefruit juice, mango, kumquats, freshly cut grass, pine needles, resinous wood, alcohol and lemon zest. This kind of sweet, sticky and huge DIPA I’ve come to hate since my initial days of beergeekery when everything that tasted a lot was good so my expectations were modest at best. That’s probably why this blew me away! Yes, it’s sweet, sticky and in every sense of the word huge but the fresh massive fruity, grassy and piney hop but somehow manages to balance the beer making it the perfect offering in a style I hate. Respect!

Bottle. Copper-orange with soft haze and one finger of extra-sticky, milk cheese-yellow head. The nose is at once tropical and herbal. Mango and papaya meld with onion and mint. Hoo boy. The flavor leads with the sweet mango, followed swiftly by dank, syrupy resins and malt sugars -- caramel, biscuits, booze. Finishes fairly clean, but with a boozy kick and substantial grassy bitterness that sticks to the sides of the tongue as if it were stapled there. Creamy medium body, moderate prickly carbonation. Noticeable alcohol heat. Great balance, with brilliant and complex hop flavors.

The best I’ve had. Very piney aroma and taste, followed by the hop bitterness you’d expect from 3 Floyds. Drink it...if you can find it!

I don’t remember much about this night, but I remember that this one was just shaded by Dreadnaught. Still an awesome beer in its own right, citrus and tropical fruit aromas all over the place, shitloads of orange, taste was fairly mild after the aromatic onslaught, but well balanced, nice long bitterness, more tropical fruits, bloody good, if only I’d had this one first

Bottle. Pours a lightly cloudy orange color with a one-inch white head. Messy lacing coats the glass after a few sips. Aromas of tropical fruit, some citrus, ripe pineapple, melon, slight bubblegum. Medium bitterness and a medium sweetness that both linger. Juicy. Medium bodied. Soft, smooth, and lightly creamy mouth feel. Dangerously drinkable; only sign of the high alcohol is the malt sweetness.

A fantastic brew, super citrusy showing nectarine, mango and melon fruit above floral notes and a crisp hop backbone. Creamy texture that really opens up as it warms. Abv covered very well here, amazingly long and smooth through the finish. Hops are understated compared to the Dreadnaught but are in perfect balance, adding to the complex finish.

Pours clear orange/amber with a generous white head. Aroma is citrus and malt in a very nice charge. Taste is a nice viscous malt with appropriate level of bitterness and the citrus hop note. Very nice DIPA.

Poured out of a bottle. Beautiful orange color with small head. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit, some pine. Very smooth double IPA. One of my favorites. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
