A battle-torn IPA. Bolt Thrower put it best: “Try to run --you cannot hide. Thoughts that cannot be denied. Pain that never goes away. Powder Burns.”

Putting down some old ratings of stuff that appears gone, On tap taphouse grill westmont 3/29/12. Another signature 3 floyds super hoppy IPA. Definately from the same bloodline as Zombie, Dreadnaught etc. Citrius, with a touch of Pine. Somewhere between a single and double IPA. Had this right after the Cimmerian Sabertooth and were very close.

Tap at CBC 2012. Deep golden in the glass, nice head. Extremly fruity aroma with notes of lemon. Starts mild-hoppy, flowery, modest dry. Finish less dry, mild, some sweet notes. Well balanced finish. Aftertaste could be more intense hoppy, but still great!

On tap at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. A clear, golden beer topped by a finger-thick white head. Piney, grapefruity hops in the aroma, doing its best to hide the maltyness. Oranges, some of the white part of orange peel, bitterness and a malty hint in the flavor. Full body, dry and pleasantly carbonated. A straightforward easy drinking and lovely IPA. Lacks complexity, but that doesn’t matter. 120511

Draft at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. Pours clear, vibrant gold with a fine, white foam head. loads of fruit and flowers on the nose. Chamomile? Earl Grey? Chai? Flavor is medium sweet with a very definite herbal, tea-like quality about it. Some moderate citrusy bitterness, some certain honey. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Medium sweet to finish with some honey and caramel, herbal tea, very mild pine. Interesting beer.

Low lacing blond head, atop a bright yellow golden body. Inviting fruity hops to the nose; Apricot, peaches, oranges, some floral tones and hint of freshly cut grass. Crisp in fruity hop flavor as well. Rounded bitterness. Dryish malt body. Great drinkability. [Draft, CBC 2012]

On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration. This is a near clear golden one with a medium sized lacing dense off-white head. The aroma has a good hoppy - without being to hoppy - aroma, and I find some straws, citrus , grape and perhaps hints of flowers. The mouthfeel is soft oily and it’s average carbonated. Flavors are quite out there with a really hoppy-citrus thing, light peach and grape fruity as well. It’s leaving my mouth really dry this one, but it’s quite tasty. 11.05.2012
