BigBastard (669), L.A., California, USA Sep 25, 2006 Aroma was very hoppy, with lots of citrus and pine. Flavor was mild though, with only a slight hop bite coming through. Semi sweet, lots of citrus, very smooth. But I was expecting a fuller flavor.
CapnJazz (17), Boalsburg, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 13, 2008 12 oz bottle at Zenos. Citrus, hops on the nose. Not as outgoing or interesting as Alpha King, I suppose it’s called ’Mild Ale’ for a reason. Clean and balanced. Some bready malt notes, mildly bitter. Drinkable and pretty good. bellmyer (15), EAST MOLINE, Illinois, USA Oct 4, 2008 Bottle from the brewery. Pours a hazy orange color. Head quickly turns into a ring. Aroma is hops and citrus. Taste is a mild hop flavor, not too bitter. Not bitter enough, but still good. Easy to drink. Lacing is slight. Mouthfeel is pretty clean. A solid mild brew, just what it says. DrHomolka (606), Columbus, Ohio, USA Oct 2, 2008 12oz bottle. Surprised I’ve never had this before. Pours a hazy golden/orange with not much carbonation. I had to pour quite strongly to form a head. A small white head forms but mostly is just a rim around the top with some foam islands. Don’t get much hops in the nose which makes me think this isn’t too fresh. For the love of God FFF please start bottle dating. A mild malty aroma with some minor floral elements and a bit of zestiness. Some biscuit notes too. This doesn’t seem that old really, I’m being hard on it, I just expected more of a hop punch being this is from this brewery. Taste is smooth, very drinkable, semi-dry though balanced. Low bitterness, very easy to drink. If this weren’t 10.99 a six pack I could see buying this. I would like to try a super fresh sample of this. Decent to good. esjaygee (830), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Sep 28, 2008 Murky amber with an airy quickly dissipating white head. Aroma of caramel, grassy hops, citrus, definitely smells similar to other FFF I’ve had. Taste of caramel, Amarillo hops, pine and citrus. The body is somewhat grainy and it has a semi bitter peppery finish that last for a while. Taverner (485), San Ramon, California, USA Sep 28, 2008 Decent mild, or amber, or whatever it is. Full of hops, which is good. Nice malt backbone, which is good. Old bottle, because the glass in the lip chipped away. This is bad. But overall a nice bitter amber.
