3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Reddish/copper color with thin beige head. The aroma was hops, citrus, malt. Nicely carbonated and medium bodied. The flavor reminded me more of an IPA. Grapefruit notes. Not bad.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pleasant American hop aroma, citrus fruit and fresh-cut grass, faint malt, and a butter aroma comes out as it warms. Clear amber color, decent white head. Hops dominate the flavor, just enough malt to balance, and a fair amount of diacetyl butter flavor. Balance is on the bitter side. Medium body and smooth, dry finish. An Americanized mild ale, really a lightweight APA. The fairly strong diacetyl butter character comes out as it warms and throws things out of whack. Unique, decent session ale.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Mild brown yellow color and a good sized foam head. Aroma is malty, the very sweet. Floral notes as well as orange, coriander and ginger are present. Flavor is smooth and very mild, with a decent maltyness to travel the length of any presence of the brew.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Although this is certainly not my favorite style, this ale smells and tastes of Three Floyds’ quality. Large head, nice hoppy aroma, and flavor. Much like the Alpha King but more mild. Would make a good starter for someone to develop their appetite for it.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
09.27.04 12oz bottle thanks to Marinaro500. Pale yellow pour, slight haze, giant white head. The usual FFF scale-like floaty things bobbing about. Aroma is not malty at all, just a burst of orange and grapefruit hoppiness. Sharp citric flavor, light body. Isn’t a mild ale supposed to be all malt and no hops? Well, nothing like what I expected, but what FFF beer is? One dimensional, but an interesting quaff.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A bit cloudy and an orangish amber color. Great sweet malt aroma and slight hop bouquet. The taste is somewhat bitter. and nicely so at that, but obviously lacking in bitterness like many milds do. There is some spice and more hop at the ending, a very nice beer, but doesn’t completely fit the style.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy gold colour with nice head. Fair amount of carbonation. Citrus taste with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Nice mouthfeel. Very refreshing. Great ale for a summer afternoon.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Growler from Munster: clear amber with a full, rocky, beige head…characteristic 3F piney hop aroma, but not as much caramel as some of the others. Slow-moving light bitterness that is only ‘mild’ when compared to AK or Dreadnaught…nice big hop profile, but I am not getting much else – for the Hop Lover; Indeed.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUL 4, 2005 An appealing hazy gold body with a sustained white head, this ale greets you with the hopped-up aroma that made me a fan of the Three Floyds people. It’s got an easy going flavor obviously designed to introduce ales to the "lagers only" beer drinkers. Nice. A good, clean, crisp drink with a slight, mildly bitter citric finish.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle pours a slightly hazy light golden, miniscule white fizzly head, healthy carbonation, with attractive lacing.   Light hops and a bit of melon & apricot on the nose.   Forwardly hoppy, not very malty.   Subtle floral notes, but not getting any of the fruit that I had in the aroma.   Decent body and mouthfeel, but quite one dimensional.   Finishes with a fleating bitterness.   Seems fairly hoppy/bitter for a Mild Ale.   Thanks goes out to atpayne for the trade!
