4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 brownalegirl (199) - Fountain, Michigan, USA - JAN 10, 2003
This is my new everyday favorite. It isn"t as amazing to me as BR Brown was, but it is very drinkable and lovely in it"s own right. I like the lemony hops a lot - they"re more intense than I usually like my hops, but perhaps my palate is finally succumbing to Sean"s repeated hop assaults (don"t tell him). This beer is also a beautiful clear gold with a tall, pretty lace head. It looks like a more distinguished, sophisticated American Standard and then it"s concentreated flavors surprise the heck out of you. As a side note, the mild thing is catching on with me - this one is very different from the darker mild at our local brewpub (Jamesport), but I like that one alot, too ... an under appreciated style?

A great mild. A sweet and malty start with a nice hoppy finish. Pleasing hop aroma when fresh, but don’t put this one in your cellar. The beer lacks the malt complexity of some of the English milds and bitters, but the overall balance of the brew shows that the Floyds can brew with subtlety as well as with extremes

Bottle from OhioDad Thanks!
Pours a beautiful amber with an aroma of peach, grapefruit, and sweet hops. Nice lacing around the glass. Flavor is a nice sour orange, with rounding notes of grapefruit and hops. Reminds me of a nice stick of Wrigley’s gum but sour. This is one badass beer. I love this stuff, and I simply must have more. This is the SESSION BEER FOR WHICH YOU’VE BEEN LOOKING. This is quality stuff.

I’m a big fan of this beer, and if you love hops, you will too. The color of this beer is a reddish-amber, and the flavor is well-balanced by the malts. This is not true to style of your "average" mild-ale. This beer is big on hops and flavor, the only drawback is there is a slight lack of carbonation (which is somewhat called for is this style). Great session beer for hop lovers.

Mild ale is by far the leat exciting style of beer, but since it was FFF I tought I should give it a try. Pours a clear saturated golden with a thick creamy head. Wow! The nose of this beer is beautiful. Loads of citrussy hops and hay. After this big smell I was expecting a strong pale ale type palate, but no, it’s all creamy like a mild should be, just a slight dose of malt sweetness gives this beer a perfect balance with the intense hoppy aroma profile. Goes down so easily, for me, this is the perfect session beer. Full of taste and flavors yet, so easy drinking. Chapeau, Three Floyds!
Tasted on tap and bottles on various occasion. Same verdict.

Not sure if my rating factored the way I intended...this is my first rating. I had FFF tonight on a whim from a Indiana multi-pack. Needless to say this beer impressed me. I was most of all impressed by how clean and easy it is to drink despite the amount of aroma and taste that is contained within. I could easily see myself making this my go to standard. Very impressed by its overall balance.

Draft. Nice color and aroma. Wonderful hop balance. Goes down like water. On cask in is exceptional. Jut an incredibly enjoyable beer. This is what a mild ale should be. Best session beer around.

Aroma: Hints of citrus, but lots of sweet, citrus hops
Appearance: Light gold, clear, with nice white head
Taste: Light sweetness all the way through, with slight hint of bitter in the finish
Palate: Light body, watery texture, average carbonation, hoppy finish
Overall:If I had to define a session beer, this would be it. Nice and light, but developed enough to keep me interested. Not my taste, per se, but a solid brew.

Format: Tap,
Quantity: 2,
Food: Roasted veg Pizza,
I found the aroma weak in my location, (farmers market), but floral, and citrus notes did come out to compete with all the food around me. The light body was a good pairing with my veg pizza. You could drink a lot of these if you wanted to or had the time. I didn’t. I will buy more to take home.

Very expected from Three Floyds! THe just love the hop and thats why I’m a big fan. For a Mild Ale this had some serious Hoppyness. Very floral on the nose and the first sip explodes with citus hops but it magically disapears and finishes clean. I dont know how they do it but they know what there doing. As long as they keep using great hops in there beers im gonna ge drinking them!
