Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours an orange-amber color with a nice three finger head of off white foam. The head has a great level of retention, very slowly fading to leave a fantastic level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the beer is heaviest bready smell mixed with a lighter level of a grapefruit hop. Along with these aromas comes some pine and a little bit of a caramel and tangerine sweetness. Taste- The taste begins with a bready taste along with a drier cracker and a grapefruit hop flavor. There is a light caramel and tangerine sweetness upfront, that as time goes on, fades a bit leaving even more dryness. While the sweeter tastes fade they never get too light overall, giving just enough residual sweetness to keep the brew balanced. With more hop flavors of pine and grass joining the grapefruit at the end a rather pleasant and crisp flavor is left on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the average to lightly thicker side of a brew of ~ 5 % abv, with a carbonation level that is rather average as well. For the style it is very good with it creating a nice base for the flavors all while maintaining a good level of drinkability. Overall- A tasty and easy drinking pale ale. A good, more session style brew.

Pride and Joy pours a mostly clear bronze orange with a thick foamy beige head that lasts throughout the duration of the beer. The aroma is citrus, rye bread and caramel. The flavor is also citrus, rye bread and caramel. The beer is so smooth with every sip. Overall this is a very nice brew.

12 oz bottle dated 6/11/14 poured into a Spiegelau tulip. Golden orange/brown with a finger of off-white head. A bit hazy from the tiny bits of floating sediment. Aromas of toast, breadsticks, light citrus. Tastes of citrus, toasty notes, spices. Medium-light body with a semi-dry finish. Medium carbonation, light mouthfeel.
