4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
A rich Aroma of chocolate, caramel, and malt. Pours a rich brown color. This was a lightly sweet, creamy, milky, chocolate, caramel, malty, vanilla, gingerbread, and shortbread cookies all rolled into one. It has a clean rich finish, with a nice full body on your tongue. This was an exceptional beer to drink.

A clear dark amber ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, classic burned caramel malt with grassy hops, wooden notes, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with light nice peaty notes, treacle, very nice. OttBottShare Dec 15 2013.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft: disappointing only because every FFF beer I have had has been incredible... This was just a little unremarkable compared to the other beers that I had in my draft sampler. Tasty and drinkable, but a little boring? Maybe if I give this one my full attention and some more time one night my opinion will change.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours lightly hazy deep ruby red color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of caramel, plum, pear, apple, raisin, toffee, bread, floral, herbal, light pepper, light chocolate, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of malt and yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of caramel, toast, toffee, pear, apple, raisin, plum, brown bread, light chocolate, floral, herbal, and toast/yeast earthiness. No bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toast, toffee, pear, apple, raisin, plum, brown bread, light chocolate, herbal, and toast/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of dark malt and yeast ester flavors; with nice robustness and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a moderately creamy and smooth mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice Scottish ale. All around good balance, complexity, and robustness of malt and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle to taster
Nutty, oak, and white chocolate. Clear amber with a thin white head. Whiskey, roasted grain and oak. Whiskey ales aren't my thing, but this was enjoyable.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from the pop. Aroma is black tea, malts, and sugar. Pours hazel brown with very little head. Taste is yummy with brown sugar, iced tea, and malty maltness. Kind of thin mouthfeel but focussed and sweet. Very one dimensional but super sweet.

Draft. Dark amber, clear. Good scotch not too strong with the peat but enough.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Hazy Dark Brown With Shades Of Red, Big Foamy Head, Decent Strings Lacing. Surprisingly, Not Much Of Aroma To Speak Of. Very Faint Lightly Toasted Malt Aroma. Sweet Malt, Caramel, Dark Fruits, Light Alcohol Zing At The End. Full Body, Light Carbonation. Enjoyable. OK but I think Iíve had Better... Still Worth A Try...

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours fairly clear reddish brown with a small tan head that quickly dissipates. There is plenty of bubbles in the glass and a film that stays on top. The aroma is big on caramel malt, somewhat roasty, not much of a hop presence in this guy. The taste is on the sweet side and brings a lot of caramel to the forefront. This is almost a dessert beer. There is a trail of bitterness on the finish. The palate on this is quite nice and adds a nice heft to the experience. This is not a style that I have much experience in but this seems pretty tasty,

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Mikkeller & Friends. It pours a great deep golden brown with a beige head. The aroma is a full of lovely malt sweetness (caramel, chocolate) with an overlay of citrus. The beer has a nice full mouthfeel with a great balance between caramel, mild chocolate, biscuit & a subtle citrusy hop finish. Really well done & less hoppy than I expected.
In a side by side tasting with Old Chub. It is smoother than Oscar Bluesís Old Chub but that has a slightly fuller mouthfeel. Seriously these are both great examples of the style.
