COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A bold Scottish ale with a complex malty body derived from roasted and crystal malts balanced with just the right combination of hops. This ale pours a deep ruby color, has a sweet malty nose with layered caramel and roasted notes and a full body. Robust yet smooth, Robert The Bruce is a malt lover’s delight.

Hands down best scotch ale I’ve had! Just wish I could get it more frequently! All the toffee and caramel in the aroma and taste/palate! Spot on!

a decent example of the style, with lots of caramel and honey notes. gets too sweet as it warms, as lots of scottish ales do. very good but not something i could drink a lot of.

Pours a ruby amber color with a caramel colored head. Brown sugar and chocolate nose. Lightly creamy mouthfeel with just the right amount of carbonation for balance. Caramel malt, ripe fig, and chocolate flavors. A pretty fun Scottish ale.

Laddy, this is a mighty fine Wee-Heavy. Super malty, has a sweetness to it that opens up the brew the longer you sip it. Lovely and not overpowering while being fit for malt heads.

Bottle. Pours hazy reddish amber with a small beige head that dissipates leaving nice lacing behind. Aroma is not strong, but sweet and malty with caramel and toffee notes dominating, with just a touch of hay. The flavor is medium sweet, very malty but also a bit spicy - almost like rye malt, some fruitiness and biscuit notes. Spicy notes lead to a "hot" finish, almost like it was a higher ABV than 6.5%. Medium body, prickly carbonation.
