Bomber shared with friends. Big ole stickin’ hops in this bad boy. Right up in your face from the second you crack open the bottle. Nice floral hints with just a tad bit of citrus/grapefruit. Very enjoyable.

Bomber from three Floyd's. Cloudy light orange pour with a few fingers of dense yellowish white head. Strong hop aroma, grapefruit citrus and floral. Medium thick mouth feel, tingly too. Citrus hop flavor most similar to juicy oranges and a bit of tart grapefruit, dry bitter rye as well. Finish is dry and aromatic rye flavored. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

jstraw (1900) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 2, 2013
Hazy orange with good, foamy off-white head, some legs / Bright nose of weed, cut pine, orange, grapefruit, candied sugar, and rye spice / Medium body, just a hint watery, creamy and chewy, sweet with good hop bite, and solid bitter finish / Flavors a little earthier than the nose, but otherwise a match, although not picking up a lot of rye character / Despite the nit-picking, another stellar brew by 3F.

Bomber, poured into a glass tulip. Aroma: Grapefruit, and hops, smells almost tangy. Appearance: Two and a half fingers of coarse white head. Appears to be a golden amber color, but the lighting in this room is colored, so it’s hard to tell. Taste: Sweet grapefruit, and a slight grassy flavor, immediately followed by a bitter hop aftertaste, that stays for quite a while. Palate: It has some weight to it, and it’s a bit oily. This beer is excellent. I love the grapefruit flavors.

pours a beautiful orange, the aroma is all tropical fruits; oranges, pineapples, mango. the rye is very much present as well. The taste is just as intriguing as the smell, all of those tropical flavors are present all throughout and the rye is noticeable right away and is also in the finish. Overall this is well worth trying and getting all the time if possible in my opinion, definitely on the top of the rye ale charts.

Bottle - thanks Jeremiah! Pour hazy golden amber with a large creamy off-white head that slowly dissipates with nice lacing. A lot of sediment in the bottom of the bottle. Aroma is wonderful grapefruit, a bit of pine. Flavor is about the same, plus a noticeable spiciness from the rye. Lightly sweet, light to medium bitter. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Nice beer.

Bottle. Hazy orange pour with medium off white head accompanied by nice lacing patterns. Aromas and flavor are super juiced out yo. Notes of dank pine, grapefruit, tropical citrus, orange juice, rye, and caramel. Perfect amount of malt in this beast....the hops were able to be showcased but still had a balanced, creamy finish. Booze is barely present. Medium body. Favorite of the night. Dio has rocked for a long, long, time.

bottle: smooth, well balanced Rye IPA. Sweet malts with some caramel notes. Ton of florals in the nose and palate with some minty spices.

Pours a dark murky orange. Heavy notes of citrus and pine in the aroma. Noticeable rye with a hint of resin. A little cloying. An excellent beer, but not quite the new era of IPAs

Location/Date:Bottle on January 25th, 2013 during day 1 of Nerd Beer Epic Weekend.

Appearance: Pours an orange cloud.
Aroma: Aroma of rye, pine and citrus.
Taste: Nice amount of bitterness, rye, pine.
    Palate:Medium light body, quick finish.

Summary: A really nice rye style DIPA. Might be co-favorite of mine with Hop Rod Rye.
