Location: Bottle at Nerd Beer Epic Weekend, 1/25/13

Aroma: It has a sweet grapefruit nose, some peach, nice hops, some rye and spice too
Appearance: It pours a cloudy golden-orange color with a small white head and drippy lace
Flavor: This one has a big citrus hop flavor with some nice sweetness too
Palate: This one has a nice, clean body, some average carbonation, and a dry finish
Overall Impression:  I thought this was some really good stuff. I can’t say too much more about it beyond that. This is a great beer.

22 ounce bottle. Lots of carbonation in pour. Urine like aroma. Big bitterness and high alpha hops. Pretty intense and bold. Slight malty character.

22 oz bottle. Foggy orange brown with a whitish head. Nose is orange peel, musk, caramel and rye. Medium to full body with a creamy mouthfeel and a crisp tingle. Taste is somewhere between orange and grapefruit, nectarine sweetness, toffee and rye finishing a bit spicy. Vodka creeps in as it warms.

22oz bottle, shared with friends. Clear red / orange color. Thin half-finger off-white head. Awesome citrusy biscuity grapefruit hop aroma. Good lace. Medium / bigger body. Dry texture. Good lighter crisp carbonation. More dry texture. The later pours for my friends looked WAY different than my pour, much less red-looking with all the yeast particles included, and even tasted a bit more balanced than my portion, I think. Nice zesty taste, big assertive bitterness. Good citrus hops. Awesome stuff.

Bottle @ ABCBeers, Dean’s scared of beer tasting. Hazy deep golden pour, white head. Aroma is fruity, grapefruit, peach, pine and floral. Flavor is bitter and very fruity with loads of hops, balanced by a thick malty sweet backbone. Great brew.

Bottle, thanks to Scopey! The pour’s light amber with a small head. The nose is grain, breash grass, orange peel and rough tropical undergrowth. Fruit salad sweetness. The taste is big tropical fruit salad - papaya and mango. Pineapple. Sticky sweet. Nice malt body cut by a sharp bitter finish. Fresh. Big body, awesome. Overall, a nice, hot & sweet DIPA.

Draft on tap at the Brew pub and at home in a 22 oz bomber. Orange pour with a small sticky white head. Aroma of grapefruit, pineapple, marichino cherries, orange peel and pine. Mild earth and cookie dough notes as well. Flavor is very bitter, with nice tropical and citrus fruit hops, bits of pineapple and mango in there as well. Mild spiciness from the rye comes out, albeit subtle. On the heavier side of medium bodied, finishes bitter with some strong rye notes. Nice.

Another gem. 24-karat pour with hints of crimson, scarlet, and tangerine topped with an ivory foam. Candied orange, mango, papaya and guava accompanied honey-baked biscuit and spicy black pepper. Think of citrus jam spread generously across toasted marbled-rye bread. Tasty...the breakfast of champions!
