3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared by nuplastikk: pours a clear bright golden with a stringy lacing white head. Has a fresh resiny hoppy nose with some light malty sweetness. Starts with good fullness and sweet light caramel with lots of fresh hop flavor and resiny bitterness before a drier bittersweet finish. Well-balanced and enjoyable.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared by nuplastikk. Thanks! Poured a clear orange-yellow color with a small, wispy head. Aroma was some tropical fruits, solid malt backing to this one. Flavor was notes of toffee, malt, resin hop character.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draft on tap at the brewpub (Munster, IN). Had this on draft while stopping down for gas and a new barrel aged offering on sale. Excited for this one after the success of it’s little brother in my book. Pours a well hazed orange amber hue, some deeper clear orange sunset edges and bottom strike well, the body more hazed, with a cakey offwhite head atop as a firm yet smaller layer. Aromas are richer bitter fruit hops of melon and grapefruit, white grape and florals. Gumball, oranges, dancing in and out with sweeter tropical fruit aromas. Some rye, bready malts, and grainy malts but this is a melange of hop flavor in the nose. Touches of grass, pineapple, and lemons waft in. Initial is medium bodied, giving just a girth with an incredibly rich bitter hop flavor up front. Fresh and vibrant, this beer preaches fruity hops, florals, melon and grapefruit up front. Straight grapefruit juice, pine, florals. Touches of tropical fruit are more mellow than the nose. Pine, lemon, grass and florals bring a nice strong resiny bitterness. Middle is bitter and grapefruit citrus. Pine and florals, dry and bitter. Touches of bread, fruit, and cereal malts. More fruity melon, kiss of gumball, white grape and tangerine. Moving into the backend this one offers firm bitterness, citrus, tons of grapefruit. A gentle kiss of heat at times, but what could be just strong bitter rich hop oils lingering on the palate. Fruit, gumball, oranges, and florals. Grapefruit juice, as the fruit and strong citrus flavors really stay throughout this one. I haven’t loved a lot of FFF’s new IPAs/DIPAs lately, but this one is a winner. Remiscent of Rye’d Da Lightning, but stronger, more intense, richer hop flavors. Fresh and vibrant, good bitter dryness. Very nice beer here. Get at it soon, the fresher the better I’d think.

Bottle, thanks to Scopey! The pour’s light amber with a small head. The nose is grain, breash grass, orange peel and rough tropical undergrowth. Fruit salad sweetness. The taste is big tropical fruit salad - papaya and mango. Pineapple. Sticky sweet. Nice malt body cut by a sharp bitter finish. Fresh. Big body, awesome. Overall, a nice, hot & sweet DIPA.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle:   Fiery amber, hazy, thin to moderate frothy white head, nice lacing.   Pale sweet citrusy and fruity nose, hoppy too.   Semi-sweet citrus and pith on the tongue.   I thought it would be more floral or
fragrant, but seems fairly average.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Sweet pith and citrus peel on the finish.   Doesn’t seem like an IIPA, perhaps a bigger IPA, but its not overly hopped or on the malty side.   Well
crafted, but to me, very much middle of the road.   Thanks to fatknitty for the bottle!

3.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle and served in tulip: Pours a deep golden hue but with a ton of floaties which was not expected, lasting frothy head and spotty lace. The aroma and lots of rye notes along with resiny, piney, and lightly citric hop esters. Pepper and clove with a touch of caramel and Melanoidin malts. Great nose on this beer. The taste is spruce, pepper, grapefruit, clove and rye bread over a layer of biscuit and aspirin... not sure what to make of it but strangely I like it. The mouth feel is more medicinal and chalky note and a tad boozy. The least favorite part of this brew. I like many things brought to the table but still feel something does not quite mesh together. Muddled and astringent as hell.
