Bottle, thanks to Scopey! The pour’s light amber with a small head. The nose is grain, breash grass, orange peel and rough tropical undergrowth. Fruit salad sweetness. The taste is big tropical fruit salad - papaya and mango. Pineapple. Sticky sweet. Nice malt body cut by a sharp bitter finish. Fresh. Big body, awesome. Overall, a nice, hot & sweet DIPA.

Bottle sample at the beer vs. wine tasting at Aficionado’s on 2/23/13. Pours a clear, yet chunky gold to amber color with a thin off-white head. Malty sweet nose with notes of spicy rye and hop. Malty flavor with spicy rye character and oniony hops in the finish.

This draft brew from a restaurant poured a large sized head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that were and left behind a softly carbonated hazy orange colored body. The strong aroma was rye and malty. The mouth feel was very tingly at the start and at the finish with a biting aftertaste. The strong flavor contained notes of rye. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

This poured a darker orange to red color with a beige head. Aroma was fruity tropical hops, and rye, booze and caramel. Flavor was much the same, good balance of fruity hops and malt, not over the top bitter, booze is a little hotter than I would have liked but still a pretty solid beer.

22oz bottle. Lived up to the hype and then some. Brighter in color than I would’ve thought. Sweet great merge between an IIPA and a Rye. Really clean golden malt actually, not so thick on the caramel and chocolate which usually accompany the style. Big citrus balance. Awesome, a true Rye IIPA, not a hoppy Rye.

Thx to kermis @ Rampkrot Whale tasting – 65 cl. Bottle sampled. Bright amber orange, big fluffy white head. Wonderful full pine nose, light caramel and spices, great hops, nicely sticky resin,… Taste is very juice grapefruit, some pine, almost soap, great hop profile, very light caramel, touch citrus, rye, bitter spices in the back, bitter zesty soapy pine,… Oily body, very easy to drink, nice.

Pours hazy golden-yellow with a short white head. Aroma of rye, grapefruit peel. Taste is a rye malt, citrus hops. Deep, rich rye flavour over a well balanced hoppiness. Very enjoyable.

Backlog rating on 12-15-2012 (Bottle) The appearance is a medium sized ivory head that mostly diminshes, hazy golden body, fast rising carbonation, and spotty amounts of lacing. The aroma is rye, breadt malt, pine, and citrus hops. The flavor is bready malt, moderate bitterness, rye, pine hops, and a semi-dry finish. The mouthfeel is moderate carbonation and this beer is medium-full bodied. The hops are upfront as they should be for this beer style. This beer’s flavors come together very well and this beer is worth trying.

22oz bomber via trade. Poured a solid looking orange body with an average sized full foamy off white head. Aroma of rye spiciness, citrus fruit, bread crusts. Medium to fuller bodied with average carbonation and a long lingering bitter hop finish. Flavor of mango, light rye seeds, pineapple, tropical fruits and dry medium toast. Good stuff.
