COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A strong American Brown ale with an aggressive hop presence. A manly beer named after the manly and quintessential Steve McQueen film. “Not your father’s brown ale” - A. Mason Brewer

On tap at the brewpub. Poured a clear light brown with a white head that dissipated to the edges and laced nicely. Aroma had a bit of pine hops with darker sweet grains to round out the aroma. Flavor began with some pine hops that mellows to dark grains with a slight sweet bread in the finish.

A damn good brown ale that is over-hopped just as would be expected by Three Floyds. Still has alot of malt but the hops really stand out, especially in the dry bitter finish. Reminds me of Surly Bender.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy golden-brown color with an off-white head that leaves good lacing in the glass. Aroma is not particularly strong, but hoppy for a brown ale, with notes of orange citrus, wood, and malts. Flavor of sweet caramel malts, citrusy hops, and earth. Light-medium bodied, with average carbonation and a malty mouthfeel. Other breweries might call this their "India Brown Ale."

clear brown, tiny tan bubbles for a head, somewhat lacy. nose is leathery malt and pencil shavings. flavor is sweet malt and cocoa offset nicely by a nice hop bitterness. medium bodied, nice bitter finish. a reasonably enjoyable beer, but not particularly sessionable. sampled at the brewpub.

Dark reddish-brown pour with an off-white head. Aroma was caramal and hops. The flavor was heavy on the hops, a good thing! Very tasty, easy to drink-brought home a growler. Left a complex lacing on the glass. Please bottle it!

tmoreau (2288) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - OCT 5, 2010
On tap at the Tribes in Mokena, IL., and dispensed to a shaker with a cloudy, brown/amber hue, and modest, off white head foam that reduced rather quickly to a ring and film, and left some light, spotty lacing. The aroma was light toastiness, a little caramel sweetness, citrus, and a touch of resin. The flavor was these notes and a nice balance of smooth malt and medium hop bitterness. A decent, hoppy, American Brown Ale by Andrew.

"Sampled at the Great American Beer Festival on September 16, 2010. Amberish light-brown body, very pretty actually, with an off-white head. Aroma of very light fresh hops and something... for some reason birdcages come to mind. Flavor is more of a punch in the mouth than the aroma lets on, with a light, rubbing alcohol-like sweetness. Very tame. Palate is quite amazing. Warm in the throat... spikey. Alcohol felt in the throat more than the mouth. Wow, this is a good beer.
