COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION A collaboration/dedication ale brewed with our friend Urbain from the Belgian brewery De Struise, this intense Belgian-style double IPA was fermented with Urbain’s special yeast and then an amazing amount of hops were added. This beer was brewed in loving memory of a former employee, Rich Sheppard, who recently passed away, a portion of the proceeds from this beer will go to his family. 4/20/12. On tap at FFF. 6 dollar tulip. Cloudy, near opaque orange-tan. Big massive steady head. Awesome tropical hop meets Belgian yeast aroma. Creamy thick yeasty body. This is the best Belgian IPA I’ve ever had. Wow. Sort of like Arctic Panzer Wolf with Belgian yeast. Cooling hop flavor perfectly balances the big body. Orange, grapefruit, tangerine...huge citrus tones. World Class,..out of the world. Absolute beast.

Hazy amber beer. Big pale cream coloured head. Palate is light and crispy. Hoppy nose. Minerals. Mild skunky hops. Columbus maybe. Followed by nice tropical fruits - pineapple, peach, tangerine and orange and then pine and grass. Mild hop spice. Sweet and bitter! Creamy malt. Mild yeast. Gooseberry comes out before the semi soft finish. Mild seltzer minerals and hop bitterness in the aftertaste. Very moorish and easy drinking. Efforless quality from Three Floyds.

22oz bottle in a snifter. Pours amber with a lacy, beige head. Aroma of spicy yeast, a lot of citrusy and floral hops, and some caramel malts and light fruit. Flavor about the same. Average texture. A pretty good blend of the double IPA and Belgian-style beer.

Thought I reviewd this before. Bomber, 3 floyds hops but quite a bit of belgian spices to go along with it. The belgian-ness of this one was a little too overpowering for me.

This draft brew from a beer festival poured a small sized head of foamy with a frothy top fine to medium sized tan colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a opaque light brown orange colored body. The mild aroma was hoppy. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and strongly tingly at the finish. The strong flavor contained notes of mild citrus hops and malt. Delicious and one I would certainly like to have again.

Backlog: Draft at FFF’s in April...Beautiful brew; dense, hazy orange color pour with nice lacing. Nose is heavy on the citrus with a bit of toasted malts to compliment, the yeast definitely contributes to the cause. Palate is typical of FFF’s IPA/IIPA brews...slick and full-bodied, though without the dry finish in some of their more recent brews. Flavors pretty much follow suit from the nose...my wife absolutely LOVED this brew.

Bottle during VP debate. Really nice imperial red here, not my favorite and seems to blend with others brewed at FFF around this time, but all are delicious, Urb’s yeast adds a unique element that isn’t a derailment of the standard FFF uber hoppy execution.

Had while camping out for Surly Darkness Day. Had some nice pineapple/citrus aromas and flavor, pretty good.

Bomber from a mystery donor. Pours hazy deep copper with 3-finger frothy off-white head that laces well. Nose is heavy piney hops, pineapple, tangerine, black pepper, caramel malt, and a slight funk note. Tastes citric, piney, with a big semi-sweet caramel malt bill, a lot of late fruitiness, and a complex dense mouthfeel. This one is great.

On-tap at Three Floyds. Poured into snifter. A: Pours a hazy copper with orange hues around the edges. Wonderful white head that leaves a moderate pace leaving a great webbing on the way down. S: Incredible hops it you in the face and then they are drawn out by the yeast. Sweet fruits play with your nose in this as well. T: Amazing citrus hops that blend in with the yeast to give a it a smooth creamy middle, then the bitter hop smash I was looking bites you in the end and lingers. M: Medium bodied. Very smooth and creamy with a nice lingering bitterness on the palate. O: I really enjoyed this collaboration. The yeast added a wonderful creaminess that really smoothed this out. Will def. buy bottles whenever they start doing that. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 06-11-2011
