COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION A collaboration/dedication ale brewed with our friend Urbain from the Belgian brewery De Struise, this intense Belgian-style double IPA was fermented with Urbainís special yeast and then an amazing amount of hops were added. This beer was brewed in loving memory of a former employee, Rich Sheppard, who recently passed away, a portion of the proceeds from this beer will go to his family. Bomber into IPA glass. Pours a nice juicy orange with a tight, compact two-finger head. Nose of juicy estery flowers, play doh, bit of pine resin, banana taffy, clove, orange and grapefruit. The yeast also gives it a spicy, herbal, almost rosemary/thyme note. Flavor begins a bit effervescent and brightly bitter, quite resinous pine and floral perfume comes forth, ripe grapefruit juice and pith, nice and non-intrusive yeast presence that gives a slight claylike earthiness as well as a spicy herbal aspect. Not a fan of Belgian IPAs, but this is nice and complex in a lot of lovely ways.

Pours orange with a two-finger ivory head and nice, sticky lacing. Aroma is Belgian yeast, piney hops, some standard Dubbel-style peppery spiciness, and hints of grapefruit, citrus, and stone fruit. Taste is floral with some piney bitterness, decent, not great. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

650ml bottle from Woodmans in Waukesha shared with bananabi11. Orangey copper pour with an off-white head leaving some lacing. Aroma has big fruity citrus with tangy spices. Taste is of sweet fruits, pineapple, a strong tangy spice component from the yeast. The blend is well done, led by the yeast, and the body is medium. Moderately carbonated with a touch of an alcohol presence. Finishes tangy sweet and bone dry. Very nice effort for a belgian IPA. 14.1

Poured from a bomber. Deep amber orange hue with a pillowy head that takes some time to settle. Nice lacing as I drink. Fruity and bubblegum in the nose with an aromatic citrus aroma. Banana, caramel, citrus and pine are some of the many layers in the taste. Assertive bitterness to take on the sweetness.

Sample during Jungle Jimís International Beerfest. Hazy darker golden, kind of orange color. Thin white kind of bubbly head. Bits of lace. Orange citrus, spice, toasty malt, belgian yeast. Bigger bitter taste, kind of spicy. Light to moderate sweet. Pleasant citrusy hop. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of crisp, lighter carbonation. Light dry finish. Solid, interesting pale ale to try. But the spicy bite sorta slows it up.
