651mL orange wax from the FFF bottle shop for something absurb like $18. Poured a clear, deep orange with weak foam. Nose is strawberry, sweet tea, oxidized apple. Taste is big biting acid up front, huge maple barleywine character. Palate is dusty, lemon acid, harsh on the esophagus. Strange beer.

Sample at CBC 2013. Clear copper with a medium sized good lacing white head. Sherry, caramel, wood, raisins, oak. Taste is medium sweet and light/medium bitter. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation.

Bottle received in trade from MeadMe, thanks for the opportunity. Shared with BFD at The Mohers house. Hazy medium gold with a smallish quickly dissipating head. Smells of leather oak vanilla caramel and a bit of funk. The flavor follows the aroma. Not what I expected and a bit out there with flavors. It grew on me as I sampled it, but its not really my cup of tea.

Bottle. This is my first FFF beer. Nice aroma of maple, with a little hint of apple. The beer is very strange tasting. Lots of maple, sour bite, and belgian yeast are apparent. I don’t know if I like these flavors together like this. Nice orange pour with white head.

July 3, 2013 - bottle shared by Joe. Clear orange brown pour. Aroma and taste of wood, spice and sweetness.

Fruity and tart. A bit too much. A dessert beer. And I tend to favor sweet beers but this one is just over the top. Had on tap at the FFF brewpub.

DalzAle (2001) - Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA - JUN 29, 2013
Tap. Dark brown/orange pour, a little lacing and an aroma of very boozy plums. Flavor is also syrupy sweet plums, noticeable alcohol and finished very hot. Although almost over the top alcohol, I still liked this quite a bit.

A - Amber orange hue with light white head. S - Oak, tart aroma, agree w/ previous reviewer (magic marker odor). T - Taste of a cider, oak, caramel. M - Begins heavy, light finish, definitely some tartness (to be expected) O - Swing, and a miss! Not sure what the intent was with this one. Guess if you’ve spent the time aging it in barrels, you’re probably not going to wash it down the drain. Instead ~ wait until Dark Lord day and dump the inventory! I’ve always been a fan of 3F, but this one was a fail.

Bottle thanks to trade with joromiller! Pours a hazy copper from the yellow waxed bomber with fluffy cream colored head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of sour Belgian yeast, dark fruits, esters of pepper, but mostly sour fruits. Taste is both sweet and sour notes, nice streets from the yeast and malts, sour dark fruit and pepper, but overlying bourbon oak sweetness, vanilla. Complex with a lingering sour character, in a wonderful way. At first I thought I was duped, but this deserves a much better rating.

At the brew Pub appearance a cloudy apple cider with a slight head barons of bourbon aroma taste of strong after taste of bourbon
