Tap at DLD. Sweet sugary nose, lots of syrup and molasses, a bit of roast and chocolate. Taste is very sweet, lightly bitter, chocolate syrup and molasses. Thick and chewy. blah.

Draught at Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Black, small head. Oaty coffee aroma. Mid-sweet with medium-full body and well rounded mouthfeel. Milk chocolat and coffee lingers until resiny hops comes to dominate the finish.

Draft. Pours pitch black with a tan head. Flavor is big on chocolate and coffee. Balanced, but I did not find it to be very complex.

apparently a brewpub exclusive that I had at a sponsored tasting. Great stuff. I couldn’t tell you what a Baltic Porter is but I know I liked this beer a lot. Huge coffee nose, followed by a lot of coffee on the palate complemented by a lot of chocolate and dark fruit, as well as a little hop flavor. Great balance. If you can find it, get it.

larsga (6446) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUN 6, 2010
Medium beige head. Nearly opaque black body goes dark red at edges. Harmonic chocolatey coffee aroma with earthy pine needle notes. Dry-sweetish Belgian yeast profile and roasty chocolatey taste with floral earthy notes. Light body. Mild mouthfeel. Dry earthy funky chocolatey aftertaste with coffee and burnt grain notes. Outstanding. (0.25l draft, Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen.)

nimbleprop (5419) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - JUN 5, 2010
Sampled at the 3 Floyds event at the Brickskeller. Pours a lightly viscous, opaque black with a very cloudy, beige head. Aromas of roasted malts, light burnt toast, sweet, licorice. Flavor is sweet, toasted breads, raisin bread, dried fruits, licorice, light cherry. Full bodied, sweet finish. Brewing this with a lager yeast really let the malts shine through.

On Tap at Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen 08/05/2010 Some fruit aroma. Black hoppy and fruity with a bubble gum flavour. A little dryness in a malt finish.
