4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draft at Jerry’s. Black with thin beige head / Winey, somewhat hot nose of chocolate, coffee, and coconut / Medium to full, body, lightly chewy and creamy with gentle carbonation, good balance, and bitter finish / Smooth flavors of burnt coffee and bittersweet chocolate with dark fruit and coconut notes / Not remarkable, but a good, solid Baltic with no flaws.

Poured in a tulip at the pub. Dark brown with a dark tan head. It slowly recedes with nice lacing. Smell is chocolate, coffee, malt. Flavor is strong of barley and coffee with a nice hop balance. Mouthfeel is kinda thin and the alcohol is well hidden. Very nice beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours pure black with a 1 finger light brown head and great retention. Aroma is bitter baker’s chocolate, olivey brine, some smoke, espresso, some caramel and red fruit sweetness, cream. Tastes like cream-infused espresso, dark chocolate, some port/sherry, some chili-esque spiciness. Body is big and creamy, low carbonation, long bittersweet smooth roasted finish. Overall, ver good.
