Has a great bite of hops and alcohol on the finish. Superb malt backbone and great balance of spices. Loved the deep chocolate and roasted notes.

Draft sample. The beer is a dark brown with a beige head of foam. The aroma has a lot of sweet chocolate and a complementary level of coffee roast. The taste is sweet and chocolaty. The coffee comes through more as an afterthought and in the finish. Bigger body and a moderate carbonation.

From old notes. From tap at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. Black color with light beige head. Roasted malty aroma, chocolate and coffee. Sweet and bitter taste. Medium oily body with soft carbonation

Oly (55) - Crawfordsville, Indiana, USA - MAY 25, 2015
Pours dark black with big tan head. Aroma is yeast, roast coffee, chocolate, caramel/burnt sugar, and a touch of vanilla. The bitter roasted coffee dominates the taste, and it’s not balanced well enough by the malt. Palate is smooth, but is a bit too carbonated and thin for my liking. Solid effort, but not very memorable.

On tap at HOTD. Pours a jet black color with a medium grey head. A big sweet toffee and chocolate nose. Light dark coffee, some nutty notes, caramel, roast, and licorice. Solid brew.

Pours a very dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is fairly smoky with roasted malts and a little coffee. Taste is a little sweet and not too dry, fairly malty. Medium to full body, soft carbonation, and smooth on the palate. Overall a good porter.

Tap at Apex for Gigantic and Friends A: Opaque black, creme head, some lacing. N: Yeast, cocoa, a bit of sugary grape, touch of vanilla, big coffee and chicory, and roasty overall. T: Bitter and sweet, in a rather unhealthy proportion. M: Medium body, creamy carbonation, alcohol is hidden. O: Less than impressive Baltic Porter. Three Musketeers is far superior; I don’t know why they chose to make this more of a stout.

Look - Dark and thick like coffee. Good lacing even in plastic cup. Creamy tan head with thick bubbles throughout. Smell - Tootsie Roll. Taste - Coffee, dark chocolate, burnt toast. Sweet bubblegum hits just before the finish and sticks around on the finish. Hint of smoke, not a camp fire. Feel - Creamy and not too watery. Doesn’t explode as much as other beers. Overall - Great Baltic Porter from 3 Floyds. Unlike other porters it definitely differentiates from a stout.

Pours black. Small white head. Smell is kinda sweet. Coffee maltyness. taste is carmelly, bit sweet, leaves. Some spices as well as dark malts. Nice

Ancient rating from Hunahpu’s Day 2012, I recently found my tasting notes. Figured why waste good ticks…espresso, cacao, dates. tobacco, somewhat bitter. Nice.
