The nose is dry, peaty roasted malt, cocoa and coffee. Medium to full-bodied and oily with soft prickly carbonation and a warm, roasty finish. Peaty chocolate roasted malt with a mild leather-like note at the finish. Another fine brew from Three Floyds. drewbeerme (1505), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 2, 2008 on tap at the brewpub. pours black with creamy tan head. aroma is slightly roasty, chocolate, and dark fruits. flavors are chocolate, coffee, caramel, nutty, with a clean dark fruity finish. full mouth feel. a bit over carbonated. no alcohol is noticed. really nice. hopscotch (4211), Vero Beach, Florida, USA May 1, 2008 Draft… DLD’08… Black with a small, creamy, khaki-colored head. The aroma is an earthy bundle of canvas and leather with toasted nuts and, of course, chocolate leading the way. Full-bodied with a skim-milk mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Bittersweet mocha flavor. Chocolate covered espresso bean finish. Yum!
