Apr 30, 2008 My favorite of the Non-Dark Lord Dark Lord Day beers. WOW! This one is simply delicious all around. Pours a nice, even black with a creamy head. Smells like chocolate and cream. Fantastic creamy texture. Flavor is full of yeast, malt, cream and chocolate, with just a hint of coffee and hops. Everything about this one screams smoothness and balance. Flavors evolves the entire time, with some candy notes coming through. Full bodied all around. This one is just full of chocolate, candy, cream, and coffee, who knew Willy Wonka worked for Nick Floyd?

May 4, 2008 Pour is dark black with a thin sticky light brown head...smell is dry and roasty with some hints of bakers chocolate...taste is dry and toasty with lots of chocolate chip cookie flavor..like the crunch dry Famous Amos type cookies...bittersweet cocoa finish...nice...

Apr 27, 2008 DLD 2008: Deep brown with purple highlights, lasting beige head and very good lace. The aroma has notes of caramel, chocolate, prune, grape, toasted and charred malts, grassy and slightly resiny hops, and some coffee esters. The taste is ripe fruit and sweet malt balanced somewhat by some acidity and hop bitterness. The finish displays a hint of coffee and smoke. he mouth feel is medium-bodied and oily smooth with just the right amount of carbonation. A very nice offering that is not hopped to the max.
