4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Poured from a bottle purchased at 3F last year into a 3F pint glass a dark brown black with a thin tan head that faded quickly.
Aroma is roasted molasses with a hint of smokiness. Touch of coffee here as well.
Flavor is sweet caramel chocolate with faint smoke. Roasted coffee is there but not overwhelming. LOVE this brew on tap at 3F & it didn’t disappoint me bottled. Aged quite well. 2 more bombers aging...

1 year old and aged nicely. Aroma is Chocolate and Roast. Head is light tan that dissipates rapidly. Taste is sweeter than a year ago and I think better. I get chocolate, malt, caramel, and a tad of smoke. Palate is excellent being slightly viscous. Overall one of my favorites from 3 Floyds.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
A very nice Baltic porter. Rich, chocolates, licorice, and coffe with a nice hoppy bite. Bought this at the brewery on my way back from Holland, MI with Nick in 2012.

Draft at the brewpub. Deep black color with a nice dark brown head. Huge aroma of coffee and roasts. Nice nose. Flavor is smoky coffee and roasted chocolate and malts. Profound taste with a thick mouthfeel. Little kick of alcohol. Excellent, excellent porter. Too bad they wouldn’t let me take any of this brew with me.

apparently a brewpub exclusive that I had at a sponsored tasting. Great stuff. I couldn’t tell you what a Baltic Porter is but I know I liked this beer a lot.
Huge coffee nose, followed by a lot of coffee on the palate complemented by a lot of chocolate and dark fruit, as well as a little hop flavor. Great balance. If you can find it, get it.

4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
he taste holds notes of roasted malts, bitter dark chocolate, yogurt (straight plain, y’all), flowers, pine, light mint, and balsa. Somehow, all of these components combine to form a nice, hoppy-ish Baltic porter. The body is a solid medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a pretty dry finish. Overall, a very nice Baltic porter, one that shows that you can add some hops to the style without completely ruining it.

Has a great bite of hops and alcohol on the finish. Superb malt backbone and great balance of spices. Loved the deep chocolate and roasted notes.
