3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz bottle from the brewery, served in a stem glass. Pours black with a moderate tan head that fades to a thin cover and leaves a moderate amount of lace. The nose has roasted malts, smoke, molasses and a touch of grassy hops. The flavour is balanced between toasty malts and herbal hops, with smokey overtones. The finish is long and roasty, with smoke and subtle herbal hops. On the palate, it is full in body with a smooth, milky texture and average carbonation. Overall, a decent stout with smokey notes, reminiscent of a full-bodied porter. 2013-06-07

Black and lacy. Hops and roast, chocolate, a little boozy in the finish.
Thanks for sharing, Liam.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Dark beer with a sticky beige head. Big malty sweet nose with some molasses notes. Thick beer with molasses and thick dark caramel, some burnt sugar and buttered toast and some chocolate covered fruit in the back. Almost smokey. Dense, complex beer.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
From a 750 to a pint glass. Strong citrus hop aroma with a smoky, roasted element. This oneís dark as night with a tan head. Lots of hoppy citrus punch in the flavor as well, with a roasted finish. You can tell itís higher gravity, but itís balanced. Another hit from Three Floyds.

22oz bottle in a snifter. Pours black with a lacy, tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, some coffee and notes of dark chocolate, and a little dough and light hops. Flavor the same with a nice blend of everything and a chocolatey finish. Smooth to average texture. A good stout.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: DEC 4, 2013 Bottle: super deep; essentially black, huge and frothy tan head that lasts forever; chunky lacing left all over the glass. Aroma is light grassy hop, earthy wood, roasty malt, dark cocoa notes, a touch of nuttiness, and very very timid dark fruits. Taste is chocolate malt forward with a light nutty, earthy, and woodsy character. Some light milky notes, enough to balance the roast nicely. Good amount of hops, not enough to distract. Mouth feel could be thicker.

22 ounce bottle shared at Berliner bask
H, poured a dark black color with aromas of chocolate, roast, light chalk, and some licorice. Flavors follow suit, solid stout overall, would easily drink again.

Pour out of 22 oz bottle, dark black pour with creamy tan head, aroma brought notes of chocolate, toffee, lactose, hints of orange, slight pine and grass, hints of roast and dark cherry. Taste is a mix of dark chocolate, roast, some coffee, caramel, toffee, hints of dark cherry, orange, hints of grass, finishing roasted, slight sweetness. Pretty nice.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pitch black. Pretty golden bubbles up top. A little cold to be smelling it, iíll come back to that. But itís a bit chalky and chocolatey. Flavor is straightforward smoked malts. Quite balanced flavor profile, front to back. Alcohol well hidden. a bit creamy like a lactose stout. Hint of cooked vegetables.... Thatís a new flavor suggestion from the site. A lot better than stuff like Edmund Fitz to my preference. A bit on the thin side for what otherwise seems like an impy. not really fair to call it a stout probably. Good show.
