Bomber in a trade. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt. Flavor is coffee, chocolate, caramel, roasted malt, and very nice hoppy bittering background, their is also a nice milky creamy mouthfeel. A very good beer from three Floyd’s as always!!!

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber from my most recent trip to Munster. Pours an opaque stouty blackish-brown with a thick espresso colored head, crazy lacing. Nose is roast and coffee, some citrus-hoppy 3-Floydness. Relatively dry and mainly a lot of roasted barley mingling with hops and coffee (i.er. it tastes like the nose) On a side note: if it wasn’t from 3Fs, I probably wouldn’t drink something that has the words ’municipal waste’ included on the label... let alone the word ’toxic’... but they get a free pass. This wasn’t anything mind-blowing (particularly considering the source brewer) , but still a nice stout.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Blackish pour. Flavor of roast, some chocolate, typical FFF hops. A very normal yet satisfying black ipa/hoppy stout.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Big bottle (22oz?) pours with a very dark body supporting a near creamy looking mocha colored head of foam. The aroma offers up dark roasted malts, some burnt malts, earthy lightly lime like citrus hops and a touch of spicy black strap molasses. The taste is rich and near creamy with a velvety mouth feel delivering up dark roasted malts, rich pine hops and then thin layers of earthy lime peel. This is solid where I’m getting a terrific balance of malts, dark roasted malts and rich bitter hops. Lovely Black IPA.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 ounce bottle thanks to a friend that picked it up for me. Pours a thicker black with a beige head of foam. Aroma is spruce, caramel, coffee, and chocolate. Taste has similar tendencies. It’s more sweet than bitter, though, which surprised me from the aromatics I was picking up on. I ended up really enjoying this beer.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark brown with huge citrus hop nose. Strong hop flavor with dark roasted malt. Akin to a black ipa, there is such a hop prescience. Malt kind of takes a back seat. Fairly bitter. Definitly a hybrid style stout but enjoyable. Nice chocolate finish lingers.

Sampled at DLD 2013. Dark brown color. Little khaki head, little loose bits of lace. Good earthy herbal hoppy aroma. Hint of chocolate malt. Medium to bigger body. More dry texture. Lighter carbonation. Good big bitter taste, light spicy bitterness. Solid.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours with a black hued body and a lasting tan head. Aromas are roasty, nutty, medium fruity notes (hop and esters to a lesser extent). Flavors show some noticeable alcohol, fruity, boozy, spicy and dry. Medium roast with a high hop flavor and bitterness. Medium bodied and warming.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
100th stout rating. Split a bottle 6 ways at Northdown. Pours a super dark brown, not quite opaque, with a finger of tan head that dissipates quickly. Lots of earthy hops, orange peel, super rich roasted malts, coffee, and bitter dark chocolate. A hint of rubber, like putting a hockey puck in your mouth. Light-medium bodied, with low-to-moderate carbonation. A few varieties of bitter and somehow still smooth in texture. Good beer.
