3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Churchkey. Pours a muddy to opaque black with larger latte foam. Webby, dense lacing. Nose is interesting- caraway, fennel, rye bread, pumpernickel, heavy rustic grain notes, coffee, anise, pine. Almost Black IPA in nose but just a little off. Taste is similar- very bready, heavy crust, roast, caraway seed, pumpernickel. Palate is a bit harsh, some chemicals and sharper lemon tea.

Aroma of roast malt, chocolate and hops. Medium-bodied with flavors of earthy malt, chocolate and resiny hops. The finish is roasty with a coffee and chocolate aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

Blackish pour. Flavor of roast, some chocolate, typical FFF hops. A very normal yet satisfying black ipa/hoppy stout.
