Pours a light gold color. Smells like pineapple, mango, candy. Incredibly easy to drink. Filled with tons of good hop flavor. Hops really take over in this one but the malt character is right where it needs to be. Before I knew it, I had 4. Canít wait for this to be in bottles. Delicious.

On tap at the brewpub. Served in imperial pint glass. Pours a nice orange color with a two-finger head. Quite bubbly at first and eventually falls down into a light cap. Slight lacing on the edges of the glass. The nose is nice with a bit of citrus as well as the usual tropical suspects that come with a Citra brew. The flavor really takes off on what was present in the nose. There is quite. Bit of tropical fruit, some orange, and then quite a bit of nice bitterness. Really nice how the flavor and bitterness interact here. Feel is bitter.and a bit light with really nice cabontion. Thrilled that this was still here and am very glad I got to try it. Will be bringing a growler back for the DC folk to enjoy. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 12-23-2010

UPDATED: DEC 11, 2011 Tap at the pub. Lots of citrus and tropical fruits going on; mango and grapefruit dominate, lots of floral hop aroma. Slightly hazy straw color, massive white head with great retention, lots of thick, soapy lacing. Flavor follows the nose pretty well, lots of citrus, pine, mango, as well as resiny hops. Bittering is pretty forward, but malt flavors do help balance. Some faint cereal grains, toasty flavors. Light-medium body and medium carbonation, slightly sticky and creamy. Really great showcase for the citra hops - highly drinkable and enjoyable.

The aroma reminds me of that of the gumballhead. The fruit notes that come through make it slightly sweet to my taste. .

Growler courtesy of jlanning215. Pours copper with a nice, lingering tan head. Initial citrus gives way to resin, melon, sweet oranges. Tastes of pronounced resin, pine, some sap hints, nice underlying caramel and molasses with a balanced, bitter finish.

On guest tap at Revolution. Pours a mostly clear, orange-golden colored body with an inch thick, dense and foamy, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves lots of soapy lacing. Aroma has tons of Citra hops with plenty of fresh grass, grapefruit-lemons, some resins, oranges, peaches, and a nice floral too. Fresh, pale malt balance with some grains and a light bread. Flavor is similar. Lots of grassy, fresh, citrus grapefruits and lemons. Some more peaches, sweeter oranges, and florals. A nice pale malt, cereal grain sweetness with a light caramel. Finishes grassy and piney with a moderate bitterness that dries with some resins and a nice, light malt sweetness. Lengthy aftertaste following a lighter, very smooth and clean, crisp body and soft, moderately fizzy carbonation. Overall, a very flavorful pale ale. Lots of grassy citruses with a nice pale malt sweetness. Very easy drinking and enoyable.

UPDATED: SEP 9, 2011 5 hour old growler provided by Alex...Pours a brilliant clear orange, a light white head good retention...Citra aroma, what else do you expect. Not much different than any other citra beer. Nice, just doesnít stand out from the others, but I like it...The taste is more citra hops, a little orange, and yeast, not bad but Iím not feeling this as much as the citraís Its not meaty enough to stand up to the flavors, needs a strong backbone. Zombie dust - bottle review... a few days old and this much better than the several times Iíve had it on draft... nose is bursting with fresh oranges and citra, supremely easy to drink, original reviews was 3.7 this is a solid 4

UPDATED: MAR 19, 2014 On cask @ 3F. Slightly hazy golden orange with a big frothy head that lasts quite a while. The aroma is awesome, tons of tropical fruit...tangerine, pineapple, pine needles, bloodorange, and sweet caramel malt. The flavor starts out sweet, with rich malt, then comes tropical fruit, and finally finishes with floral hops and loads of bitterness. Nice smooth palate with soft carbonation. One of their best beers imo and thatís saying alot. Bottle version isnít as good.

On tap at Lunar Brewing Co., and shaker served with a cloudy, apricot nectar color, modest amount of silky, white head foam that was fairly lasting, and curtainy ribbons of lacing. The aroma was a pungent dose of hop as sharp, white grapefruit, some resin, and just a hint of sweetness layered in. The flavor was very hop dominant, with lingering bitterness, and a touch of caramel malt buried in there somewhere. Not bad, but a bit on the astringent side for my tastes.
