Pours a glowing deep golden orange tinged hue, dark with light haze, a sunset mysyique and a big offwhite cakey head that laces well and stays moderate sized. Aromas smack from quite a distance away: lively Citra hops provide a boquet of fuzzy peach, grapefruit, tangerines, and lemons, touches of floral, biscuity and pale bready malts interwine with a a big peachy presence, apricots and grapefruit. Tempting. Initial is lighter end of medium bodied, big tart peach, citrusy grapefruit and lemons, touches of tangerine, floral bitterness, some grass, lingering fruity melange coupled with pale malts, bread, biscuits, and grainy malts. This brew really is all about displaying this hop varietal though.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: OCT 13, 2014 Light bronze hue, fairly hazed and capped with trimmed white. Celery seed, papaya, weird aroma. Rocky, mineral, and salty. Caraway and herbed focaccia. Bits of lime and lemon zest. Just crazy. Can’t tell if its old or fucked or what.
The flavor doesn’t move on from this, and it isn’t what I remember in this beer. It’s all pungent, garlic and green vegetables, seedy spices, salts. Crusty bread, healthy minerals, and distant citrus pith can’t compete with the weirdo herb-salt thing that still leans toward celery, dill, and cracked bitter seeds.
Black tea like texture, with mild carbonation and slick, acidic body. Sugary mid palate, syrupy bittersweet finish. Bottling date shows 09/19/14 and it seems incredible that so little time could affect this so much.

Pours a clear, bright orange with a thin, white head. Aroma is a big, wet, juicy, pine forest with citrus, and resin. Taste is a strong bitter. Big resin, pine forest, slight grass, and orange citrus. Big, dry hopped taste. Medium body and carbonation. Clean in the mouth with a big, dry finish. Overall a really great beer. Huge wet hop aroma and taste. Resin, pine, and citrus. Awesome.

Pour is light clear golden with modest white head. Decent retention and light lacing on this one. Aroma is sublime; citrus dominates and I suppose that shouldn’t be unexpected. Medium bodied with nice sweetness as well. Im honestly blown away by this one. Light but sweet malts fuse with a wonderful citrus and floral hop profile. Bitterness is lingering but limited, and it is just so incredibly palatable. Had it when it was Cenotaph - the new bottles are fantastic.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a slight hazy orange with a medium white head. Aroma is of mango, tropical fruits, and citrus. Smells of a strong fruity IPA. Flavor is sweet tropical fruits up front and turns to a strong caramel malt backbone. Finishes slightly bitter for a pale ale but overall from aroma to flavor it is well balanced.

4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a very clean golden color with a nice white head. Huge Aroma, of citrus and pine resin, floral, a little earthy, grapefruit. Tastes of lemon, lime, grapefruit, citrus zest, pine, very bready malt and cereal malt. Nice and aggressive in the hop notes and the body complements this beer perfectly. One of my all time favorites.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Crazy citrus aroma, but not as hoppy as one would expect. Malt backbone makes it very drinkable. Looks beautiful in the glass and it would be easy to knock down a few of these in a row. A nice beer, but not complex enough to be the world’s best pale ale. FFF’s Alpha King is more interesting and enjoyable, IMHO.

Big thanks to FlavioSP. 33 cl. bottle @ Borefts 2014. Drank about half. Amber, orange, little white head. Lots of rich pine rein in the nose, sharp, almost touch bark; Thick oily resin taste, nicely bitter, great balance, bitter grapefruit, lots, good malt body but no heavy; Substantial body, every easy to drink. Amazing, one could drink a lot of this. Also the label is spectacular on top.
