4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Three Floyds. Pours a yellowish orange with some head. Aroma is absolutely terrific; hoppy grassy citrus and sweet fruits (pineapple, cherry, grapefruit), plus pine. Just want to dive in it. Taste is citrus, pine, more malt presence than expected. Some orange zest. Finishes medium long and sweetly bitter. This is excellent!! We bought a case to go and that has been equally terrific out of the bottles. I did not think a pale could be made to rival Daisy Cutter or Alpha King, but this is better. Indeed kudos to FFF for having a great pale and creating something better.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 20/20
UPDATED: APR 27, 2013 Re-rate: 12 ounce bottle. Sweet, grainy. quite bitter at times, insanely drinkable, very full of all the hop goodness you can get really. Oranges and light pine. Excellent. First class.
On tap at GABF. Pours a opaque orange color with a medium white head. The aroma is sweet citra and some biscuit. The flavor is all massive tropical fruit, some bitterness but mostly a super smooth drinkable IPA or Pale Ale. Very nice and superbly drinkable.
Re-rate: Iíve had about 12 of these since my insane winning of a case for FBW! Superb. More drinkable than water by some measure.

Fresh 12 oz. courtesy of Patty BrugBee. Pours a slightly hazy golden orange, with nice lite pillowy off white head. Smells like some dank, fo reals, and orange, grapefruit, citrus, pine, etc. Taste is pretty great, medium lite on the mouthfeel, fairly low actual bitterness, hops really shine thru here. There really isnít much else going on - which is fine. The best thing about this is the freshness - smells and tastes just like truly fresh hops - and thereís no malt to get in the way! Perhaps just a tingle in the very back end mite possibly alert you that itís above 6%, but it is supremely quaffable. High Poundability, fer shure.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours hazy, vibrant orange-gold. Medium head. Nose is incredibly laden with citrus hop notes, tangerine and pineapple. The palate is something else entirely. Very green, herbal hop flavors with much less of the citrus thatís on the nose. Mild malt level really lets the hops take over, but the bittering is on the low end of the moderate side, so itís not too unbalanced for my taste. Thereís a really distinct sweetness up front before it transitions to the hop notes. A really unique brew.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Thanks to GatorGuy92 for sharing this one. Wow. Just when I was beginning to lose faith in Three Floyds. Pours a hazy orange with a white head. Nose is intensely hoppy- lightly floral and a mushroom cloud of piney and bitterly citrus hops. Flavor is similarly explosive hops- massive pine and citrus character with peach, apricot, and floral hops. Light in body and extraordinary character for a 6.2% beer. Absolute home run.

Super drinkable with a great floral body. This is one of the most drinkable APAís Iíve come across. I hope 3 Floyds keeps this one in the regular rotation.
