3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 temporrari (373) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - SEP 8, 2011
UPDATED: DEC 9, 2012 Draft at The Dash-In. Great orange color. Really nice aroma. Plenty of hops in this beer. Bitterness is restrained, with a great hop bouquet and flavor. However, there is a substantial malt presence. And, it’s almost a little too sweet for me. Citra is nice, but does add some sweetness on top of the malt. I would love for this to be drier. As it is, it’s a nice beverage.

Much thanks to Dmac for sharing this growler. Pours out an attractive copper color with a light white head. Aroma is very nice. Juicy citrus hops, tangerine, orange, tropical fruits. Taste is complex, nice tropical fruit, tangerine, light coconut, and some grainy bread creeping in there for light balance. Awesome brew.

400! And what a beer to celebrate. On tap at brewpub pours a clear bright copper with a medium khaki head. Aroma is a resinous pine, citrus, and caramel, could smell it as soon as it was put down in front of me. Taste is a swirling caramel maltiness intertwined with resinous pine and citrus, glorious! Finishes clean and mildly bitter. One of the best beers I’ve ever had! I could drink this all day.

On tap at GTMW (2011)
Maybe I just haven’t gotten on the citra bandwagon but this APA didn’t excite me all that much. A solid offering with the typical hop bite we have all come to expect from Three Floyds it did not leave me wanting more. The semi-tropical notes of mango, pine, and citrus hold the attention for a while but I soon found myself moving on to the next tap in search of a more interesting discovery.
