12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear copper with a large white head. Wild aroma of citrus, tropicals, and malt. Taste is citrus hops, caramel malt, pine, and lots of tropical fruits. Outstanding!

Pours an amber orange with a white head and tropical aroma of citrus, pine, and hops. Taste is well balanced, of fresh hops, grapefruit, citrus, pine and malt with a nice, clean, bitter finish. Great tasting, drinkable brew and a great bottle and name to go along with it.

Pours hazy golden orange with a wispy head. Nose is all citrus including grapefruit, peaches, and orange and arguably one of the best noses for an APA. Taste is nothing but flavor, citrus bursting through with peaches, mangoes and grapefruit. Finish is sweet and somewhat long and delicious. Arguably one of the best American Pale Ales made. Quaff Score 9 /. 10

Good off white head, (almost) clear and dark gold to light amber. Strong aroma of pine and grapefruit. Soft sweet (malts?), but mostly hopbitter with pine and grapefruit again. Good body for 6,2 %. Would like to have some more of this.

UPDATED: APR 20, 2012 12oz bottle. Pours golden orange with a quickly dissipating white head. Aroma is of hops, pine, citrus, and floral notes, Definitely smells hoppy and tasty. Taste starts with a strong, but not overpowering hop taste. More sweet and juicy than bitter hops. There is also a lot of pine and citrus. Slight floral notes. The malt is buried underneath the hops flavor. Way too easty to drink. Definitely something I could drink on the regular.

Hazy, tan. Chewyish nose with woody, citrusy notes. Fruity, and bright up front, with herbal notes as well. The malts are clean and balanced. Earthy, bright, tasty APA.

A favorite of mine from Three Floyds and lets be honest, the art is killer. A hoppy beer with balanced overall flavor and a cloudy color that could trick one into thinking it may even leave a residue, a dust on the tongue.

UPDATED: JUL 15, 2012 I originally reviewed this back on 03-31-2012 and gave it a 3.55. I believe the bottle was old as I got some oddly savory (pizza goldfish) flavors and aromas. Take two on a fresher bottle! 12 oz bottle into a 3F pint glass. This was picked up in early July. Reviewing on 7/16/2012. A - Golden clear amber body. Splotchy one finger off-white head. Really small and tight bubbles. Great lacing and retention. S - Very grapefruit and mango heavy with some caramel malts. There is also a savory and danky spice to the aroma. A bit of grass and earthiness in the finish. T - More of the grapefruit and mango hops with that dankiness. Some caramel malts and a bitter finish, although the bitterness quickly washes away. Really awesome blend of citrus and tropical flavors with a pleasant spicy earthiness. Mouth feel is medium to light with nice carbonation. O - Probably the best pale ale I’ve had, although I feel like 3F is stretching the category a bit as its pretty much an IPA. Having a fresh bottle certainly renewed my faith in the citra hop.

Nice hops aroma. Big malty backbone. Unlike a west coast ipa but pretty decent ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
