I love this beer when extremely cold. Creates a unique experience. I would buy more often if it weren't so hard to get. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. bottle supplied by WillRunForBeer. Opened at his Merrimac flat. Many thanks! To long-stemmed tulip, it pours a copper-toned orange with which a snowy white head 1 finger stood. Aromas of hop oil, pistachios, wool, Bible paper, krill oil, elderberries, and Crystal malt. Tastes the same with the addition of cedar bark, sesame seeds, pine needles, and gym socks. Could drink a lot of these. Just enough enough sweetness to take the edge off.

12 oz. bottle poured into a perfect pint. Slightly hazy orange liquid. Aroma of citrus peels, floral hops and a touch of pine. Not a hop bomb, but the citra showcased in this beer is spot on. Really well balanced with the malts. Medium mouthfeel with a lingering bitter hop finish. Very drinkable!! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle @ home. Bottled 12/05/13. Clear golden yellow, big white head that settles nicely, good lacing. Aroma, hops, fruits, citrus, orange, passionfruit, grapefruit, peach, floral, pine, malt. Taste, malty, with a lot of hops, similar to the aroma. Medium body and oily mouthfeel. Bitter pine aftertaste.

An incredible beer. Aroma: Citra hops, grapefruit essence and a hint of spruce. Appearance: Amber orange Taste: Light bitter Palate: Medium, a creamy and lively taste with a long finish Overall: Thoroughly enjoy this beer. Just wish it was not so hard to get. Even getting the beer at the brewery is like being in a Seinfeld episode. It truly has cult following.

Bottle: Thank you kindly Sir Matt for this extra! Served in a Chouffe glass: Medium sized snowy white foamy head on top of of a hazy orange colored beer. Aroma has lots of hoppy aromas like the typical fruit, (grapefruit, citrus, lemon and apricot), herbal and flower tones, also hints of something malty, some caramel, yeast and light mealy tones. Flavours of hops, hop fruits? , hop bitters, malts, porridge, some caramel, herbs, bitters and yeast. Very floral fruity with all the hop spirits up front! Aftertaste is fruity, bitter, light malty, light herbal, some yeast and some woody porridge. Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, medium to fuller bodied and a creamy texture. Wow, very nice!

I CANNOT get enough of this beer! I am lucky enough to be able to score a case every few weeks here in Wisconsin. It hasn’t been delivered in a few weeks, but hoping I can score some more of this masterpiece soon as it is hands down my favorite beer to try yet.

Love the citra nose and taste a little under carbonated on tap but this beer is a great pale ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Such a great beer, wish it wasn’t so popular now... nearly impossible to find. I got a case and thought I was gonna get jumped walking out of the beer store... I only didn’t give ZD a perfect score because last year’s taste seemed to have a hint more body. A: The best citra flavor ever. Skunky, sticky, citrus. A: Sam Adams Boston lager glass... came out Golden Orange with the FFF zombie king staring at me in the background. T: I missed you ZD. Perfect hop balance with not being too bitter, except about 20 seconds after the taste. Like I said though- I thought I remembered more body in my previous tastings. P: Medium Light, creamy texture that has a soft bitter aftertaste. O: I love this beer, if you haven’t had it and you are an IPA/PA fan then you need to plan a trip... there are similar beers with the same citrus flavor but none as delicious as this pale. I just wish it wasn’t so popular and damn hard to find!
