3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown body with a huge frothy dark brown head that slowly faded. The nose is nicely roasty with lots of caramel and a lactose like sweetness. Maybe a touch of vanilla and a light chocolate note. The flavor is pretty sweet, but I suppose that it’s to style. The roast is fairly intense with a clingy stickiness that really lingers. This is pretty enjoyable, but it gets a bit tiring because of the combination of the sweetness and stickiness. Medium bodied with a bit too much frothy carbonation. Not among my favorites for the style, but I can get through a bottle of it.

The flavor is bitter and roasty. Notes of ash, dark chocolate, and acidic coffee. Hints of dark fruit and licorice. Kind of a seltzer water quality to it.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
No, I’m afraid this is better than yer typical foreign stout, much better than i thought it would be. Nice black on tap pour at the bocktown. Really cool aroma. My taste impressions is burned wood cooled by the morning dew. Very little co2. Never goes into impy or foreign stout mode. Not as smoooth as I like but pretty good overall. Probably one of the more mild and friendly foreign stouts I’ve tasted.

Bombers from Wegman’s and Capone’s. Pours black with 1-finger acey tan head. Nose is black IPA-like grainy dark malt, hops. Tastes vibrant, very hoppy and resiny, with a roasty dark malty mid-palate and a dry stouty finish. This one is like an Imperial Black IPA.

This poured a medium brown with a beige head. Aroma was brown porter esque, lightly roasted and some roast in there, overladen with citrusy hops. Flavor was a nice blend of sweeter chocolate, green hops, and light roast. Solid.
