Three Heads Common Man is a cloudy, golden lager with a very generous, cream colored foam that lasts in huge lumps. It leaves a great ring of foamy lacing. It has an aroma of light grain, fruit and caramel. It smells fresh. It’s soft and pretty full bodied. The finish is sharp, dry and acidic. There’s a bitter lemon peel aftertaste. It’s quite top-heavy with bitterness. It is a lot like an ale, maybe an IPA or an ESB. It’s a very simple, well-blended flavor that keeps my attention.

Bottle. Pours gold with a fluffy white head. Grassy and floral hops, pale malts, light fruity sweetness, and some faint earthy notes. Solid stuff.

The aroma is apple, candi sugar, fruity esters. The appearance is transl light amber, white head. The flavor is the same sweetness as aroma, fruity esters. The finish is sweet, with resin, floral hops. Medium in body. Interesting. Good.

Draft. Amber color with a nice head. Rich malty aroma, some fruity esters and caramel. Interestng esters in the flavor, like banana gum, plus a bit of caramel and earthy hops. Very bitter finish, lots of bittering hops. Nice full body. Tasty, drinkable, and fun. Good.

Recent bottle from Village Beer Merchant. Foaming yellow coloured body. Mildly cheesy. Average mouthfeel, appropriate carbonation. Neutral taste, nothing special. So-so drinkability

On tap @ Lazy Boy Saloon. Poured a light amber with a thin white head. Aroma includes notes of grass, floral, and hops, but nothing distinguishable or enticing. Taste is similar and quite simple with only one note. Nothing offensive, but nothing that would make me want to drink again.

An amber lager with a thin off white head. In aroma, a smooth herbal malt with German hops. In mouth, a smooth grainy malt with German hops, mash tun, OK. Tasted at Raquette River Beer and Wine Fest, July 13 2012.

Serving: Draft. Slightly estery with light grain notes. Light to medium body with a nice crispness and a dry finish. I pretty decent take on the style.

I guess as a bridge beer to wean people off the standard macro stuff it is okay but not much of interest here. Grassy nose with corn. Palate seems to have a bit of the nice German hops. Drinkable. Gold clear and no hear and little retention or lacing.
