Undated but just purchased 12 oz bottle. This is first and foremost a hoppy red ale with no clear sign of oatmeal although it may contribute to the relatively smooth feel. Moderately bitter with plenty of tropical fruit notes and some spiciness from the hops. The hops seem more earthy and herbal and less fruity in the nose. Lingering, moderately bitter, hoppy aftertaste.

(bottle - 22 oz) Copper pour with a creamy looking white head. Hoppy and citrusy aroma . Flavor begins with a good citrus hop flavor with a slightly dry and fruity bitterness. Oatmeal isn’t very apparent but that doesn’t matter to me. Really great citrus and floral hop flavor.

bottle. some sediment in an amber beer under a small, creamy, stable, beige head. piney, resiny hop aroma with crystal malt sweetness. body is medium. flavors of green piney hops and moderate malt sweetness. its a hoppy amber/red ale. i love this style and i think even some more malt presence would not be out of order.

Bottle. Caramel malt and citrus peel hops aroma. Hazy deep amber with a small off-white head. Biscuity caramel malt and weedy citrus peel hops flavor. Light body, soft carbonation. A bit harsh.

22 oz. bottle. Pours a clear red with a moderate tan head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left partial lace. Pleasant aroma of crystal malt along with a few citrusy notes. The flavor is malt with a bit of caramel followed by a wash of moderate grapefruit pith bitterness along with a bit of pine. The initial smoothness from the oatmeal is more than offset by the hops wash. Medium bodied.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance has a mahogany colored body that leaves a one finger white foamy head that concaves into the body within about twenty seconds. The smell is based around some citrus and floral yet somewhat sweet hops. Some light malty oatiness comes out as the beer warms. The taste takes the smells and adds a nice sweet yet somewhat bitterness. The palate sits about a medium sort of feel indicating a great balance of wateriness to thickness. This is fairly sessionable. Overall, though the beer has some nice qualities that are different for the style, it is still good for the style and good enough for me to have some more.

bootle tossed my way via boostipa (wave). sweet candied apple. carmelized brown sugar. touch of bitter resin adds some balance. subtle orangepeel, pineapple fruitiness. but still too sweet for my liking. comes across as a light barleywine. nice body. boostredipa accepted.
