On cask @ beer authority. Pours thick and creamy with a huge cappuccino colored head. Very dark. The aroma is strange. Filled with hops and some sweetness but Parmesan cheese? Wtf? Anyway on tha palate it’s nicely balanced but uninteresting. Pretty decent.

From a bottle from Lazy Dog. Pours dark ruby brown with a bubbly beige head. Tastes like sweet roasted malt, bitter hops, pine, dry grapefruit. Light.body and low carbonation. Smells like sweet alcohol, pine, musky malt.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with creamy beige head. Aroma is lightly roasted malts, faint chocolate, raisins, fig, light spice, and faint floral notes. Flavor is dry malts, roast, medium earthy bitterness, and faint dark fruit esters; dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Courtesy of a trade. Poured black with a beige head and a lot of sticky lacing. Nose is roasted malts and pine hops. Medium plus in body with a smooth creamy mouth feel. Flavor is a good balance of chocolate malts and pine hops and a good bitterness is there. The finish shows the pine hops and some licorice. Really delicious beer.

On tap at High Street Grill in Mount Holly, NJ. Nose is a combo of roasted malts and piney hops. Upfront, flavor is bittersweet roasted malt and more pine hops. A unique contrast that seems to work nicely. Soft silky mouthfeel. Finish has notes of licorice and chocolate. Nicely done.

Rated on 12-24-2011 (Bottle) The appearance is a medium sized tan fizzy head with a lengthy retention, transparent brown body with an orange tint, fizzy, fast rising carbonation, and one ring of lacing. The aroma is roasted malt, pine and grassy hops. The flavor is roasted malt, pine hops and fruity. The mouthfeel is lively and this beer is medium bodied. The roasted malt takes over the hops in this beer thus giving this beer a lingering roastiness.

Tap from Lazy Dog. Pours a translucent dark brown with a layer of off white head. Aroma of malts and pine. Taste of a random assortment of hops, malts, dark chocolate, and pine.

Warner Robins, Ga. - Lazy Dog Growler - on tap. Deep dark brown pour, sticky mocha colored head with luxurious lacing. Aroma has a hint of chocolate, light spruce. Delectable flavor with solid chocolate notes, a touch of licorice, some rye mintiness, a touch of light citrus bitternesd with a nutty back end. Thickish mouthfeel. Very enjoyable.

22oz bomber from Spirits Manahawkin. Poured a nice looking thick dark black body under a larger dense creamy beige head. Aroma is blah, the roastiness is missing and there is some light chocolate over a cardboard tonic water band aid combo. Palate is okay with a medium to thicker body with stronger fizzy carbonation. Flavor is better than the aroma with a little bit of roastiness hanging on, hint of buttery chocolate and dark toast. This one is suffering from some infection issues and I guarantee time will kill this completely, I couldnt even finish the bottle.
