COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Voraciously hoppy and not overly bitter. The Kind brings enormous aroma and maximum flavor. It’s like taking a walk through a pine forest and ending up at a citrus farm. This beer brings joy to the world, one sip at a time.

On tap @ Tap and Mallet - Best IPA of all the local Rochester area beers we sampled. Hazy gold pour with small to medium white firm head. Big fresh hop aromas, lots of citrus peel and thick floral characteristics. Aggressive fresh hop flavor with good bitterness to balance the piney grapefruit flavors. Would definitely look for this one when in the Rochester ares.

Serving: Draft. Heavy gold pour. Herbal hop nose. Hop heavy but it has balance. Floral with light citrus. Lighter in body. Really nice brew.

Bottle: Poured an amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrus and piney notes is quite dominant with some semi-sweet caramel malt notes also distinguishable. Taste is also a balanced mix between some citrus and piney notes with some residual sugar and caramelized malt also noticeable. Body is quite full with good carbonation. More floral hoppy notes would have helped provided further enjoyment of this beer.

Hoppy but not over hoppy. Nothing seems to jump out to me to make this a distinct beverage. Dont get me wrong this brew is better than average but I’ve tasted pine & citra notes many times before in an IPA. Overall it isnt great. The worse part is that The Kind is not so kind to my palate. Many India Pale Ales arent forgiving to ones palate so I wont let that ruin my overall judgement here. Lastly I am not a big fan of citra hops and Im fairly sure they are in The Kind. In the end each to his or her own.

Draft at NOVA BrewFest. Poured a nice clear orange color with a small, but solid white head. Aroma was nice citrus, with a touch biscuit malt in there - sweetness to it that was quite pleasant. Pine notes for sure. Flavor was nice pine, with bitterness, well balanced with sweet malts. Pretty darn refreshing.

Muddled.... A typical lower-end "East coast" ipa. It isn’t horrible but nothing excites me abut it.

Cask at Blind Tiger, NYC. June 2. Pours a slightly hazy orange-copper with no head. Aroma is fruity along with citrus hops, slightly resiny and catty as well. Flavour of citrusy hops, fruit, some light spices and malt in the back. Average to medium bodied. Good stuff, better then I expected.

22oz bottle in a shaker. Pours light amber with a fluffy, off-white head. Aroma of a lot of bitter and lightly citrusy hops plus some caramel malts. Flavor about the same. Average texture. A decent IPA, but the hop blend used doesn’t fit somehow.

Light tan color off draft. You can instantly smell the floral hops. Really fruity and tasteful. First time I ever heard of this brewery

Pours a clear golden color with a semi thick white head. Aroma is of hop, pine, dough, citrus, and some grain. Flavor is a little less hoppy than I was expecting. I can taste some hops, citrus, and candy up front. Grain, rye, and bark comes through in the back end. Lighter palate. Leaves an aluminum hop finish.
