3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Bvdubn (16) - Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 17, 2013
Smells like citrus hops but they are more mellow in the taste. Amber colored with white head that fades and doesn't leave any lacing. This is the first beer I have had from three heads and it was a solid offering. I look forward to trying more Three Heads beers.

Bomber pours a slightly hazy golden/orange color with light white head and slight lacing. Aroma is full of citrus fruits with some resin plus bready malts. Taste is moderately sweet with a dry finish. Body is at least medium with slight carbonation and a mouthfeel that is both sticky and creamy. Quite enjoyable.

Pours very clear, golden, with a lot of carbonation and a small head. The aroma is mild. There’s some hops there for the nose, but not a lot. After the first taste I was surprised that this is billed as a "double" IPA. The hops here are as subtle and polite and any IPA I’ve had. Sierra Nevada’s Torpedo, my session IPA, is hoppier and stronger tasting. There is an 8+% ABV, however, so drink responsibly.

On draft at Sharp Edge Brasserie. Poured clear blonde with splotches of lace. Lightly fruity nose. Fairly well balanced, caramel and citrus flavor. Bitter finish. Nothing special.

Bottle sent to me by the ever generous ygtbsm94. Thanks dude.
The beer is golden sunrise with an inch of lasting white head. Hop and citrus aromas followed by sweet breads and fruity malts. Very juicy and resinous. Fresh squeezed oranges with some alcohol sweetness. Earth and maybe even mushrooms emerge a bit as the beer is allowed to warm. While not off, per se, it’s a bit out of character for the style. Interesting mouthfeel. Bitter hops initially, then smooth and creamy mid to late palate. Certainly an interesting beer if nothing else.

Bottle @ home. Pours clear burnt orange with very light haziness and a medium, frothy white head, short retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is pine, citrus, and resin hops with cracker and meal malt, peach and apricot fruity esters. Flavor is heavy hops and spicy bitterness with supporting sweet malt and medium fermentation fruity esters, hop balanced with a dry finish and lingering citrus pith aftertaste. Medium-full body, medium carbonation, light alcohol warmth, and no creaminess or astringency.
