Our mamas always taught us that you can never be too polite. In their honor, we decided to test that theory with the Too Kind. It has everything you love from the Kind IPA but jacked up to an out-of-this-world level. A hop exuberance of pine, citrus and love that plays nice with others.

This beer confounds me a bit. Having serious potential to be really good, its unfortunate flaws knock it down. At first whiff, the aroma is a bit malty with a hint of floral/spicy hops. Underlying this however, is a green apple smell. This caries into the flavor and overall taste of the beer. I canít say for certain, but I suspect this beer was not properly aged. Otherwise, something else has caused a similar effect. The body is a bit thin as well. Honestly, this reminds me of homebrew... in a good way for the most part, tasting fresh and very vibrant.

Bottle. Pours a clear gold body under a one finger frothy off-white head that had nice retention. The nose is citrusy hops, but also a fair amount of sweet caramel malt as well. The flavor is ok, the citrusy and dank hops are a bit drowned out by the sweet caramel maltiness. The finish lingers a bit, a mixture of caramel and pine. Medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation and a slight cling. Meh, this one is OK, but not a favorite among the style by far.

Bottle. Aroma is strong caramel, hops. Body is cloudy orange with little to no foamed head. Flavor is bitter hops and caramel, very flat flavor profile. Palate has a slightly bitter grass presence.

Much like The Kind IPA, but stronger with more toasted maltiness, some weird vegetable/rotting grain quality in the middle; arguably less interesting and less flavorful than the regular version; light honey malt on the aroma and a light sweetness in the flavor; overall flavor seems off; not impressed at all.

Dec. 07, 2015; 12 oz. bottle (sold in 4-pack). An earthy, dry DIPA. Virtually non-existent head. Sweet without being cloying. Long, sticky palate is the best feature. Okay, but definitely not top-shelf.

12oz bottle. Damn this went down fast. I must have liked it OK to drink it that fast but I canít remember any particulars. Will have to taste some more and pay attention next time. Ratings are estimated.

Hazy orange-ish color. Not a lot of carbonation. Pine notes. Citrus notes. I wish the smell was more pronounced. VERY smooth. I donít get any Alcohol in the taste. Medium body. Very well balanced. Tastes great!

That quinine hit right at the start fades to a beautiful resiny finish--it lingers in your mouth like the image of a pine tree over a lake

Frosty yellow; cloudy like pineapple juice. The head is massive, like a meringue. The lacing is spectacular. It is just beautiful to look at. Aromatic notes of flowers and herbs. The hops are woody and dank. Just a touch of lemon/citrus rind, but just a touch. Very pleasant, not a lot to go by though. The flavor is very earthy malts, very dirt/soil-like Then very herbal hops: more like a spice than citrus or wood. A touch of mushroom? Pleasant but definitely not amazing. The feel is ashy and dry. This is a very earthy, herbal beer. Itís no surprise given all the tie-dyes on the label. Itís very solid, just not a mind-blower.
