muzzlehatch (4424), Burlington, Vermont, USA Jan 5, 2003 I hate to just call this an "ale" but the bartender was no help, there was no description, and of course no brewmaster in evidence. This is a very hoppy, somewhat alcoholic strong brownish ale, with lovely caramel sweetness in the nose, some interesting if slight spiced pear/apple tinges to the flavor and an overall agressive earthy/nutty profile with a strong bitter finish. One of the brewery’s best; if pressed I might call it an Alt? I dunno. Worth having, anyway.
