muzzlehatch (4424), Burlington, Vermont, USA Oct 21, 2007 Draught pint at the brewpub, September 26 2007. My last stop to date (almost a month!) at this, once my favorite beer drinking establishment in town, afforded me this new stout, which poured a thick, unfiltered brown-black with little head....and smelled, well, chocolaty, a bit roasty, even burnt, and generally more robust/hoppy than I’d expect in a sweet stout....at first the flavor profile seems more dry and bitter also, but as it warms a nice milky-malty-cocoa character shows up, well-accented by the thick, creamy and utterly unpasteurised mouthfeel....light touches of vanilla and blueberry seem evident near the finish....nothing spectacular or original, but quite solid and nice enough that I had a second.
