muzzlehatch (4425), Burlington, Vermont, USA Dec 21, 2006 Draught pint at the brewpub. Murky amber-brown, translucent and lightly yeast-flecked/hazy with very little head that dissipates immediately....sweet, malty-nutty aroma, more brown sugar/molasses than anything, bit of caramel, faint herbal qualities....on the tongue, whoa this is sweet, syrupy-sticky at first but quickly turning watery and dull, very little flavor apart from unfermented, worty sugars....very low carbonation, poor attenuation, a sticky yet thin and watery mess. Wondered at first if this was going to be the same thing as last year’s "Winter Ale" but it’s obviously not....that was brewed with talent and love; this for....? money? I have no idea, but if this is beer is any indication of the accepted quality at this once-fine brewpub, it sure isn’t going to be getting much more of my dough.
