Sep 8, 2004 Pitch black color with a thin frothy dark tan head. Not much in the way of aroma, just some faint roasted malts. Starts mild with a touch of malty sweetness, quickly turning dry and roasty. Could use some more body and as muzzlehatch pointed out, would be better served warmer.

Apr 5, 2004 On draught at the brewpub. Black of course, brackish water, small head lasts through the whole pint (impressive). Prunish, raisiny aroma, light pine, medium roastiness and a bit of coffee. In the flavor, quite fruity upfront, dry at the end but little hop bitterness, and a bit too thin. Would be better served of course by not being served at 38 degrees or so, but alas that's what the hippies seem to want.
