3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a nearly opaque dark mahogany with a thin, wispy-lacing light tan head. Aroma of sweet and roasted dark malts. Body starts smooth and creamy with a nice sweet malty flavor with a touch of molasses and a drier, roastier finish. True to style and quite drinkable.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pint at the brewpub. Dark chocolaty-brown verging on black, opaque, fine head. Sweet milk-chocolaty, lightly roasty nose. Very sweet throughout, milky, vanilla and licorice hints. Quite smooth, little hoppiness but enough roastiness to keep the sweetness from gagging. Malted milk texture. One of the ’Needs better efforts.

Big roasty malt aroma. Opaque black with lasting ring of off-white head. Roastiness up front in the flavour with plenty of balancing sweetness. Nice bitter, dry finish. Medium body. Very enjoyable. On tap at the brewpub.
