Draft at the brewery. Pours a clear dark red-amber color with a medium sized creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of toasted malts, caramel, earthy notes, mild peat. The taste is stone fruits, cherries, caramel and a moderately hoppy finish. Thin-medium bodied. Solid.

Sample at Station 2. Pours a clear reddish-amber color with a medium foamy off-white head that recedes gradually. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, caramel and hops. Light-bodied with flavors of bready malt, caramel and earthy hops. The finish is sweet with a short malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

12oz can at Green Pig Bistro pours a hazy amber with some creamy, slightly off white head. Nose has yeast and malt, crackery, biscuit, orange, some caramel. Flavor follows right along, sweet and nutty, malty, biscuit dough. Dry finish.

12oz can from Total Wine. Poured a slightly cloudy red color with a small off-white head. Aroma was some sweet malts, and what my memory can only describe as campsite wood. Flavor was sweet malts, some earthy hop notes.

Keg @ St Maartens, Charlottesville. Deep red pour with a medium white head. The nose is strong cocoa, sweet cherry. Toasted bready malt. The taste is strongly malt heavy. Cherry and brown bread. More toast and rich dark chocolate. Medium body, fine carbonation. Overall, fine. This doesn’t really stand out.

Ruby red amber pour with creamy white head and lace. Sweet caramel malt dominates the nose. Sweet caramel malt and a rock candy like sweetness. A touch of what I think are earthy hops. Medium body with good carbonation.

Norm’s Fine Wine and Beer, vienna: pours red with a creamy off-white head. aroma is slight caramel and wee bits of a hop and some earthiness. Taste is pretty light. Not too much malt backbone. It was almost watery. Meh.
